Summary: In picking her next victim Harmony makes a very bad choice.

Harmony walked the streets of Smallville after her bus trip from Metropolis. She had hoped to find work at Luthercorp after Angel had 'let her go.' Unfortunately, they weren't hiring and the bus stopped for the night in some crummy small town called "Smallplace" or something like that.

Harmony walked down Main Street looking for a meal. She had gone back on the human blood. It was hard falling off the wagon but knowing Angel was probably too busy being dead after taking on the Senior Partners to do anything about it made things easier. She was sorry he hadn't written a better letter of recommendation though.

Harmony then laid eyes on a hunky looking boy. He looked good to Harmony as well, all brunette and cute and muscular. Prime choice beef. Harmony could eat him up, and she decided she would do just that.

The vampire followed him as he ducked into an alley. It couldn't be better. She would dine well tonight. Or maybe she could sire him. He would be a good minion.

Clark Kent ducked into the alley so no one would see him. He was running late and planned to run home in the super sonic way. But right as he was about to move he heard a woman's voice behind him.

"Mmmm you will be such a yummy meal. And I mean that literally in case you think I am sexually harassing you or anything." She said walking closer to him.

"Excuse me?" The teenage boy asked confused.

"Sorry sweetie, can't talk right now. And not just because you're not interesting because you come from Kansas." The blonde vampire then slipped on her game face, her true vampire form showing.

She then lunged at him as the teenager looked on confused. She bit into his neck, looking forward to a good meal.

"Owww." Harmony said as she bit into him. Her teeth didn't puncture his neck; in fact it felt like she had bitten into a brick. "Oww… my teeth." She cried.

"What was that?" Clark asked shocked. Sure he hadn't seen what he thought he saw.

"You nerd. I think I chipped a fang." She said holding her mouth.

"What are you?" Clark said surprised.

"None of your business you big jerk." Harmony shot out as she punched him. The young boy didn't move though and Harmony's hand felt like it hit steel. "OWWW!!!" She said in pain. "What the hell!" She said.

Clark moved closer, not sure what to make of everything that was happening.

"That hurt!" She snapped, as if it was Clark's fault her fist hurt hitting his face. Harmony instinctively kicked at his shin. Unfortunately it didn't fair any better. "Ieee! Shit! That does it!" She said.

Harmony then leapt at Clark. But like a bullet he was suddenly standing behind her as the blonde fell into a pile of trash missing him. Clark having moved too fast for her to see him.

"I can't believe this." Harmony said as she stood up. Picking the banana peels and kitty litter from the trash out of her hair. "Now I ruined my hair. I can't do anything evil right." She then started crying, throwing Clark off even more then he already was.

"Are you all right?" He asked, not sure why he was feeling sorry for her. His attackers never cried when they failed before.

"Get away from me." Harmony pouted. She then turned, "I can't believe you. Can't you be a good victim. When I was in high school guys like you were wrapped around my little finger. Now I can't even kill them." She then stormed off out of the alleyway crying.

As Harmony exited the Alley she suddenly saw it getting bright to her left. She looked and saw a pair of headlights staring her straight on.

"Oh shi…" Before she could finish, Harmony found herself hit by an oncoming car. A perfect ending to her pitiful attempted feeding.

Harmony hit the ground. She didn't know what hurt more, the pain from the car collision, or her utter suckiness at being a vampire.

Panicked the man driving the car stepped out and ran to the girl he had just hit.

"Oh my god! Mam are you all right?" He said leaning down to check her out.

Harmony roughly got to her feet and grabbed the man, "Of course I am all right. I am a vampire; I don't get hurt by a car! It isn't like I suck that bad you jerk." Harmony then tossed him into the nearby building and ran off still in tears. Her vampire speed making it impossible for any of the befuddled spectators to catch her.

Clark looked on from the alley. Not wanting to show himself for fear of questions. He had to note, he had been attacked by a lot of strange people in the last few years but that took the cake.

As Harmony ran for someplace to hide in shame, she found one small solace. The guy she grabbed and threw hit the building hard. Surely she broke his neck, maybe killed him. That technically was a victim from her attack. It was kind of evil. Sure she didn't do it on purpose but it still counted. Didn't it?

Then she frowned, knowing that didn't help the fact her stomach was still growling.

The End
