Chapter 1
As You Wish

Willow rolled her head back and stared at the ceiling in frustration. She wanted to scream – they'd done it to her again. None of them showed her any consideration anymore. Hell, sometimes she wondered if they'd ever appreciated her and the things that she did for them. Looking back at the task in front of her, she sighed heavily.

"Witch," Spike began. "Is there a problem?"

Willow glanced at the vampire for a second before shaking her head. "No," she stated a bit too firmly.

Spike smirked at her. "Yeah, all right," he said.

Willow's mind raged. He was staring at her with that all knowing glare that he'd perfected over the years. He knew – he had to know what was bothering her. And he was going to use it – exploit it to make fun of her. Willow pushed down the wave of self-pity and let anger take over instead. She pushed her chair away from the table and glared at Spike.

"Shut up," she hissed.

"Excuse me," Spike asked. "What exactly have I done?"

Willow squinted at the vampire. "You're here. I'm here. No one else is here. And I'm mad. No, furious – I'm furious! And, I want to be pissed off, okay?"

Spike laughed loudly. "Fine with me, pet. But, can I ask why you're suddenly so angry?"

Willow shook her head. "It's not sudden. I've been angry a while now. It's just that tonight-they ... you always ... ugh!"

"Red?" Spike asked.

Willow was staring at the floor, and from the smell of salt in the air, Spike knew she was crying. He hated the fact that she felt this way – not that he didn't understand her frustration. He was a Master Vampire, and he was stuck living in a bloody Watcher's home, forced to drink animals blood out of a coffee mug! He supposed that he should be grateful that they didn't chain him to the bathtub anymore. Or tie him into that damn chair. They had other ways of getting him to stay now – Soldier Boy's threats to hand him over. Willow's tears intensified bringing Spike out of his thoughts. Getting up from the couch, he walked over to where she sat and pulled up another chair.

"Red?" he asked her again.

Without even realized what she was doing, Willow launched herself into Spike's arms. The surprised vampire wrapped himself around her and held on tight. He didn't know why she was in his arms – but he damn sure liked it.

"Why do they treat me like this?" Willow asked as she pulled away from him.

Spike guided them over to the couch and sat them down. "Why does who treat you like what?"

Willow looked at him with wide, sad eyes. "Buffy, Giles, and Xander. Why do they treat me like this?"

Spike, already knowing what the witch was talking about, decided to play dumb. "What have they done, pet?"

Willow thought for a moment before speaking.

"They take advantage of me all the time! Take tonight for example. Olivia is in town, so Giles decided to take her out to a nice restaurant. Buffy and Riley are off doing who knows what, and Xander and Anya are probably off playing some twisted sexual game. The thing is, none of them even asked me if I had plans before they told me I needed to be here research this Quishah demon and to baby-sit you."

Spike's eyes flashed yellow. "I do not need to be baby-sat."

"You know what I mean!" Willow insisted.

Spike conceded the point and nodded. "So, you had plans?"

Willow chewed her bottom lip. "Well, no. But they could have asked. I do know that I don't want to be here. I mean, you being here, and me being here with you – that's not bad at all. I just don't want to be here."

Spike thought for a moment about the meaning behind Willow's words. "You don't mind being with me?" he asked.

Willow shook her head. "No. You're actually good company when Buffy and Xander aren't around. Oh, and you're not trying to kill me."

Spike smirked. "You wouldn't have stayed dead, little one."

Willow met his eyes. "I know," she said.

It was then that he saw a flash of the spark that had made her attractive in the first place – that fire that had drawn him in. He saw who she was – and all the power she possessed. It was intoxicating. Why no one else could see her for who she really was. Spike held her gaze for a few long moments before taking her hand and standing up. "Come on."

Willow began to protest, but changed her mind when she saw the look on Spike's face. "Where are we going?"

"Anywhere but here," Spike said.

Willow gasped and stopped moving. "What?"

Spike turned and met her gaze once more. Confused, he asked her what she was questioning.

"You said ... you said anywhere but here. Did you mean it?"

Spike nodded. "Yeah, what of it?"

Willow said nothing, she just pulled the blond vampire closer to her. Their faces were inches apart when she finally spoke. "Take me away from here, Spike."

Closing the distance between them, Spike captured her lips in a quick kiss, shocking Willow speechless.

"As you wish," he said quietly.

Chapter 2
Head Over Feet

"Where are we?" Willow asked as Spike stopped the car.

Spike looked at her and smirked. "You're telling me that you've lived in Sunnydale your whole life and have never been here?"

Willow shook her head. She looked around and saw that they were at a lake.

"Sunnydale has a lake?"

Spike just laughed at her question. "Let me guess – all these years, you've just gone to the beach. Bloody typical."

Willow nodded. "Yeah, I guess. I had no idea this was here."

"Come on, Red, I'll show you around."

Spike and Willow got out of the car and began to walk toward the water. The darkness seemed thicker here for some reason, and Willow shivered.

"I'll protect you, Willow," Spike stated simply, sensing her slight moment of fear.

Willow stopped walking and faced him. She wasn't sure if it was his statement or the fact that he said her name instead of one of the little nicknames he usually used, but – at that moment – all she wanted to do was feel his body against hers.

Spike watched the emotions dance on her face. Stepping even closer to her, he put his hand on her waist. "Something on your mind, Willow?"

She groaned and in one swift move pulled his lips to hers. Spike felt like he'd combust from the sparks he was experiencing, but deepened the kiss nonetheless. His tongue led hers in a sensual dance. His fingers tangled in her hair, her arms around his neck, they broke away reluctantly, leaving Willow breathless. Willow's arms still around him, she laid her head on his shoulder.

"Dance with me, Spike."

"Um, yeah. There's no music, love."

"Doesn't matter. Dance with me."

Spike shrugged before leading Willow in an intimate dance. His hands caressed her back, dipping down occasionally to graze her lower back where her shirt raised to expose skin. Willow swayed in place, her eyes never leaving Spike's. Her senses were almost overloaded at the new sensations she was suddenly feeling. She'd never felt this alive before. The vampire holding her had managed to do something no one else ever had – he put her at ease. She didn't know when-or why-it had happened, but it was clear that it had. As they continued to move together, Willow leaned in and captured his lips again. Spike moaned into her mouth as her hips bucked lightly against his growing erection.

"Red," he warned. "Don't start something you're not going to finish."

Willow pulled back slightly and looked into his eyes. "I'm not teasing you, Spike."

Spike saw the truth in her eyes, and his demon roared at him to throw her to the ground and take her. Spike resisted, appealing as the thought was. Now just wasn't the time. "Let's go," he said, pulling out a cigarette and lighting up.

Willow's eyes flashed in confusion. "What?" she asked.

Spike grinned at her and grabbed her hand. "I said I'd show you around, and I intend to. We'll have plenty of time for, um, dancing later."

Willow smiled at Spike as he led her down to the lake shore. The water shimmered in the moonlight and Willow could tell it was a beautiful place. Stopping not ten feet from the water, they sat down on the soft sand.

"This is beautiful," Willow said.

"It's my spot," Spike said quietly. "I discovered it when I was here in the '60s."

Willow glanced at Spike, surprised. "You lived in Sunnydale in the 1960s?"

Spike nodded. "Yeah. Dru and I were both here then. She was going though a phase – she needed to be around 'family'. Darla and the Master, and most of the rest of our Order – they were all here. 'Course, the Master was locked under the city and swimming in his vat of blood most of the time, but he was here."

Willow's nose wrinkled in disgust. "Vat of blood?"

Spike snorted in laughter. "Don't ask. Truth be told, I wasn't just here to entertain and take care of Dru. I was here mostly here to annoy Darla and Luke."

"Luke?" Willow asked.

Spike nodded. "Big, old vampire. Had a thick neck. Heard the Slayer killed him during the Harvest."

"Oh. Him." Willow said, sadly.

"Met him, did you?" Spike asked.

"Not exactly. But I think he turned Jesse," Willow whispered sadly.

"Who?" Spike questioned, not sure if he cared or not.

Willow shook off her sadness. She refused to let the past ruin the fun she was having tonight. "Never mind," she said.

"Okay," he answered.

They sat in a relaxed silence for a while, Spike rubbing lazy circles across Willow's back. She sighed in contentment, her body growing sleepy. She leaned her head against Spike's shoulder and looked into his eyes. His emotions were clear and she drew back slightly, the reality of the situation striking home.

This was Spike. The same Spike who had tried to kill her on numerous occasions. The vampire who liked to tease her mercilessly – who liked to pick at every single insecurity she had. Confusion colored her face.

"Spike?" Willow asked. "Why are you here with me? And why ... why did you let me kiss you?"

Spike turned toward her and cupped her face with his hands, kissing her lightly. "Red, I kissed you first, remember? Back at the Watchers, I did. And I let you kiss me because I want you."

"Why?" she asked.

"Why? Why wouldn't I?" he questioned in return.

"Because I'm so boring, and predictable, and-"

Willows words were cut off by Spikes lips crashing down on hers in a hard kiss.

"No, you are not." Spike said firmly.

Willow stared hard at the vampire. "You do your best to make my life hell. Is this some sort of joke to you?"

Spike recoiled slightly at the harshness of her words. He was about to lash out when he realized that she was right. Stroking a finger down her cheek, his eyes softened.

"I know I'm a bastard, luv. But you gotta remember – I'm a bloody demon. It's my nature to mess with people's heads. Now, granted, that's not the type of thing one should say when trying to convince a girl he's for real, but I think you deserve the truth. Red, I was serious earlier tonight – just like I was back a few months ago in your dorm room. I would not have killed you – at least not in the permanent sense. I don't want to let you go," he said.

Willow's eyes widened at his words. She could hear the emotion in them, and something in his eyes told her that he meant every word. Moving closer to him, Willow put her arms around his neck.

"Kiss me again," she said.

Spikes arms tightened around her and their lips met. Spikes tongue slipped inside Willow's mouth and she moaned at the sensations he caused. Spike lay them back as his hands began to explore her body. He cupped one of her breasts and stoked absently at her thigh. Willow shivered under his attentions, but quickly realized things were about to spiral out of control and that she was on the ground.

"Spike."

Spike growled slightly as he pulled away. "Yeah?"

"I want to make love to you, but not here."

Spike closed his eyes and sighed. "You're right. You deserve better."

Willow smiled sweetly at him, and kissed his lips once more before resting her head on his chest. "Spike? Take me away from here."

"Where to, luv?" Spike asked, his arms tightening around her.

"Anywhere but here. Anywhere but here," Willow whispered as she drifted into sleep.

"Done," Spike said.

Chapter 3
The Lights of this Strange City are Shining

Spike watched Willow as she slept. He still had no idea how he'd managed to get her here without her waking, but he'd done it. Smiling softly at the redhead, he walked up to the cockpit of the private jet.

"Peter," he said as he entered. "Did you file a flight plan like a good boy?"

Peter Jamison laughed at the man before him. "Of course, I did Mr. Hathaway."

Spike grinned at the man – some humans were worth keeping. "So we'll be taking off shortly, then?"

Jamison nodded. "Yes. You should take your seat."

Spike just nodded as he moved to return to Willow. She was still sleeping, so he made sure that she was properly belted in. Marta, the attendant smiled at him from her seat.

"We're about to take off. You'd better sit down," she said.

It was two hours later that Willow woke up.

"Holy shit, I'm in an airplane," she said, sitting up with a start.

Spike laughed heartedly at her surprising outburst and asked Marta to excuse them. Willow was looking at him with wide, slightly fearful eyes when he sat down next to her.

"Have a nice nap, luv?" Spike asked, kissing Willow gently.

Willow grinned. "Yeah – I'm really tired. Have been really tired ... I haven't been getting that much sleep lately, what with research and finals, and ... um, Spike? Should I be worried?" she babbled.

He shook his head. "No. We're just going on a bit of a trip."

Willow smiled. "Anywhere but Sunnydale?"

"Was the last thing you said, wasn't it?" Spike asked.

"Yeah, kinda. I guess this is anywhere but there ... So, Where are we going?"

"Let me surprise you, please."

Willow nodded. "Spike, could you hold me? I'm still kinda tired-ya know, lack of sleep and all, and-" her voice trailed off as he pulled her to him.

"Sleep, sweet Red. We'll be there soon enough," he said as he drifted off to sleep himself.

And that was how Marta found them when she entered the cabin some time later. She smiled at her occasional boss and hoped – for his sake – that this one wouldn't hurt him. Her mind hardened at the thought of that other girl – that Drusilla. Now, that was a horrid, undeserving bitch if she'd ever met one. Marta placed a blanket over the sleeping couple and silently wished them all the best.

"Willow? Wake up, luv," Spike said quietly into her ear. He couldn't believe they'd both slept almost the entire trip. He silently wondered if Peter and Marta hadn't drugged them in order to have a quiet flight. They'd both been known to do that in the past. Dru was not favored among the two of them. He smiled as Willow stirred in his arms and slowly opened her eyes.

"Hi," she said shyly.

Spike grinned. "Hi," he said back.

Willow raised up to stretch and looked around. "We've landed," she said.

"Uh huh," Spike said, getting up.

"Where are we?" Willow asked.

Spike smiled a bright smile and motioned towards the door. Willow rose and let him guide her to the exit. Spike called out a good-bye to his employees and they stepped out the open door.

"Oh my goddess. Spike! This is ... I'm ... we're ... London? We're in London?"

Spike again found himself smiling at the witch – his demon content for once. Her face had lit up when she took in the city around her.

"Yeah, luv. I decided to come home for a bit of a visit – got business to attend to. Thought you might like to join me."

Willow grinned and rushed down the steps to the ground. Spike followed closely, and as soon as they were both on solid ground, he swept her into his arms.

"Show my lady to her quarters?" Spike asked, his accent slightly different – more polished.

"Lead on, kind sir." Willow responded.

Spike led Willow through the small maze of shrubs that led to the house. He couldn't stop a smile from spreading as he watched her face light up and her eyes widen upon taking in the estate.

"Spike! This is ... wow. Is it yours?" she exclaimed, flustered.

Spike nodded as they arrived at the door. He pulled key from his pocket, unlatched the lock and went inside. After a moment, he realized Willow wasn't following him. Turning, he saw her still standing outside. Tilting his head to the side, he questioned her hesitation, "Red?"

Willow met his eyes and held his gaze, "May I come in, Spike?"

Dumbfounded at her consideration, Spike could merely nod. Willow stepped into his house and gave him a bright smile. Spike had to force his demon back and hold strong in his self control. All he wanted to do was throw her against the wall and claim her as his.

Reeling his control back in, Spike smiled and walked over to her. "Why did you do that?"

Willow looked confused for a minute before answering. "Well, it's polite to ask – even if I can just walk in. This is your place – I mean, you have to ask to come into mine..." Willow's voice trailed off as she saw the look on Spike's face. Concerned, she asked. "Did I do something wrong?"

Spike shook his head. "Not at all, luv. Not at all."

Willow smiled brightly. "This is a beautiful house, Spike."

Holding out his arm he asked, "Care for a tour before we leave for dinner?"

Willow stood in the hall listening for any sound of life. Spike had given her the grand tour and then left to, as he put it, grab a bite to eat. Willow knew the chip was still functioning, so she knew that he had to have arranged for blood to be brought in. She hadn't seen him for over an hour. Coming to a stop outside of his bedroom, she listened. Willow smiled as she heard the sound of a shower running. Realizing that she still had a lot of getting ready to do, she headed back to her own room.

The maid had already laid Willow's dress out on the bed. It was the perfect size, and Willow couldn't help but wonder how Spike had arranged it all on such short notice.

The dress was a midnight blue silk with matching satin trim and a scooped neck. It was cut to fall in a flowing manner and would almost hide her shoes. Willow smiled for what felt like the thousandth time that day, and headed into the bathroom for a shower.

Spike, dressed in a black dress suit and a dark blue shirt, walked into Willow's room. She had her back to him, but from what he could see, the dress fit perfectly. She had the phone to her ear, and he grinned as he listened to her words.

"Buffy, this is Willow. I'm sorry I didn't leave a note. I was a bit distracted. I'm in England. Don't freak out and come and look for me. I'm here on my own free will. I will be back. I'll try to call when I think you'll probably be there – though as you know, that's something that rarely happens lately. Anyway, I'll see you in a few days, okay? Bye."

Walking up behind her, Spike slid his arms around her waist. "Everything all right, pet?"

Willow smiled. "Everything is fine, Spike."

She turned in his arms and kissed him firmly. "Thank you for this."

Spike smiled. "It's my pleasure, Willow."

His lips descended onto hers once more, his tongue teasing her lips. After a sweet kiss, Willow pulled away and looked at him.

"Wow," she said.

"I look good?" Spike asked teasingly.

Willow nodded. "You look incredible."

Pulling her back to him, Spike looked directly into her eyes. "I don't look half as good as you do," he said as he kissed her again.

Willow was having the best time. Spike had taken her to dinner at a wonderful French restaurant and then to a show. They'd gone o see the musical RENT, which Willow had adored. Spike was proving to be a continuous source of surprise. They were currently leaving the theatre in the car that he had somehow procured for the evening.

"That was great," Willow said.

Spike grinned. "Yeah, it was. The singing and dancing got to me after a while though – wanted to rip out that one whiny girl's throat... "

Willow laughed. "Did you not know it was a musical?"

Spike shook his head. "Nope. I had a friend get me the tickets. He's actually originally from Sunnydale. His name's Clem, maybe you can meet him sometime."

"Where are we going now?" Willow asked.

"Back to the house, I think. You're jet-lagged, right?" Spike questioned.

Willow nodded, "Yeah. Even though I slept the entire way here. Been a long day, I guess. What gave me away?"

Spike looked at her and smirked. "Well, the yawning you did through the second half of the play was my first clue."

Willow blushed. "I didn't mean to!"

"Course you didn't, luv," Spike said as he reached for her hand.

They rode in comfortable silence the rest of the way, Spike tracing lazy designs on Willow's hand.

Willow and Spike were standing outside of her room. Willow was leaning against the door with Spike in front of her. He traced his finger along her cheek.

"You do look beautiful, Red."

Willow smiled. "Thank you."

Willow yawned in spite of herself. Spike smiled.

"And on that note," he began. "We should get you to bed."

Willow nodded. "I suppose."

Spike pulled her close. "I had a wonderful time with you tonight, pet."

Willow sighed into Spike's shoulder. "So did I, with you."

Wrapping his arms around her, Spike raised her head and kissed her gently. Willow moaned and deepened the kiss.

"Are you going to come in?" Willow asked.

Spike's mind screamed yes, and he struggled with his demon for a moment. He took a deep breath. "Not tonight, pet."

Willow tensed and pulled away slightly. She wasn't sure if she should be impressed with his self-control, or insulted because he didn't want her.

"But..." she said softly.

Spike's grip on her tightened, and he forced her to look at him. "I'm not saying I don't want to, Willow. Believe me, luv, I want you. Just ..." his voice trailed off.

"Not tonight," Willow finished.

Spike captured her lips again briefly. "Soon," he promised as he turned and walked to his own room.

Willow watched him shut his door and raised her hand to her tingling lips, smiled behind her hand.

"My god, I think I'm falling in love with you, Spike," she said softly before she entered her room.

Spike, from his room, barely caught the muffled sounds of her words. He blinked, startled at their meaning.

"You're mine, sweet Red," he said. "And I don't intend to ever let you go."

Chapter 4
Except for the Ones with the Yellowy Eyes

Willow awoke in the soft bed and immediately smiled when she thought of the reasons she was there. Stretching, she decided to take her time before heading downstairs. A bath, she decided, sounded wonderful. And, she thought with a lazy grin, she wouldn't be missed. Spike was a vampire, after all. He'd probably be asleep until well into the afternoon. Thinking of the claw footed bathtub awaiting her, Willow got up.

Searching the closet, Willow found a pair of black knit yoga pants and a dark green tunic. Grabbing those and a pair of trainers, she headed into the bathroom.

Willow was sure that at some point in the last few days she'd died and gone to heaven. Upon entering the bath, she'd discovered that Spike had somehow supplied her with all of her favorites. He'd provided her with the brand of shampoo she used, vanilla body wash, rose scented bubble bath, and an assortment of lotions that was absolutely divine.

She sighed as the bubbles caressed her skin. Willow knew that she needed to get out. She'd probably been soaking for an hour. It was just so nice and comfortable – she didn't want to give up the relaxed feeling. It was, however, the thought of seeing Spike asleep in his bed that made her finally get out. Combined with the prospect of finding something to eat, Willow had all the motivation she needed. Smiling, Willow got out of the sweet smelling water.

Wrapped in a fluffy white towel, Willow chose a vanilla scented lotion and slathered it all over herself. After getting dressed, she rubbed some gel into her damp hair and looked in the mirror. Deciding she looked pretty good, she splashed a bit of rose water on her neck and face before leaving to check in on Spike.

Spike was in his downstairs office discussing his current financial situation with his accountant, Stephen Greene, when he heard her. Willow was coming downstairs. Smiling at Stephen, Spike rose and went to the door. Willow was about to pass the room by when he stuck his head out.

"Morning, luv," he said. "Had breakfast yet?"

"Spike!" Willow began with a smile. "I've been looking for you."

Spike grinned and stepped into the hall. She smelled amazing – and looked even better. "Been looking long?"

Willow grinned back. "Well, you weren't upstairs, and I missed you."

Spike growled softly at her words and backed her into the wall. "Missed me, luv? Why didn't you just say so?" he asked as his lips met hers.

Stephen Greene watched the last part of the scene unfold, blushing slightly. He was about to announce his presence, when his boss beat him to it.

"Willow, meet Stephen Greene, my accountant. Stephen, this is Willow Rosenberg," Spike said.

The redhead smiled brightly at him and waved. "Sorry for interrupting your meeting. I'm gonna go find some food now. Can I bring the two of you anything?"

Spike smiled. "I'd love something to drink, and I'm sure Stephen would as well."

Looking at Stephen, Willow asked, "Tea okay?"

He nodded.

"Okay. I'll be back in just a bit," she said.

Spike pulled her into his arms for another light kiss before she headed off to the kitchen.

Greene grinned as she walked out of earshot. "She's beautiful."

Spike nodded, still looking in the direction she'd gone. "Yeah, mate, she is."

Willow smiled at Sarah, the housekeeper, as she exited the kitchen with the tea and blood she'd gotten for the men. Sarah had wanted to take it to them herself, but Willow won out in the end by saying she was going to join their meeting anyway.

Willow walked purposefully back to the office. She paused outside the door listening as Spike and Stephen discussed Spike's estates. There was a debate going on as to whether or not he should sell his Italian estate. Willow's mind registered a moment of shock at the further realization that Spike was even more well off than she'd originally anticipated. She wondered how well off for a moment, and almost missed Spike's question from inside the room. She blushed at the fact that he'd known she was there, but shook off her embarrassment.

"Well, luv? What do you think?" he asked as she finally entered the office.

Willow thought for a moment before answering. She sat the tray down on the table in front of her and began to serve the men.

"Well, is the house in Italy nice?" she asked.

Spike grinned. "Very."

"Then no," Willow stated. "Don't sell it. I've never been to Italy. Invest a bit of money into the Atlantis Corporation instead."

"Atlantis? I've never heard of them," Stephen said.

Willow smiled. "They're an American company that specializes in new technology. They're quite successful. I can get you the investment information to look over."

Stephen nodded. "That'd be just fine."

Both Willow and Spike walked Stephen to the door.

"It was very nice to meet you, Miss Rosenberg," he said.

"You too, and please call me Willow," she answered.

Stephen smiled in response and offered his hand to Spike. "William, always a pleasure."

Spike nodded. "Thanks for stopping by, Stephen. I'll be in touch."

As soon as he man had gone, Spike had Willow pinned against the wall and was kissing her passionately. His tongue teased hers as his fingers ran through her hair. Willow kissed him back with equal fervor. Her arms held him tightly to her, wanting him to be as close as possible. Willow broke the kiss breathless, and Spike pulled her even closer to him.

"I've been wanting to do that all morning," Spike said. "I couldn't tell you good morning properly with the accountant watching."

Willow smiled into his neck. "I missed you last night, Spike," she murmured.

Spike groaned and pulled her into another kiss. Willow kissed him back and dug her fingers into his back as he gently thrust his erection into her thigh. Upon feeling how hard he already was, Willow pulled away from the kiss and met Spike's eyes.

"Take me upstairs, Spike."

Needing no other invitation, Spike gathered Willow in his arms and headed to his room.

Spike lay Willow down on the bed without breaking the kiss. His hands roamed her body and he forced himself to remain in control. He tried to remember that this was not only their first time together, but also Willow's first time since Oz had left over a year before. His control was tested as she snaked her hands under his shirt and practically ripped it from his body. He groaned in appreciation and finally broke their kiss.

"Eager, are we, Red?"

"I want to feel you against me, Spike."

Spike quickly removed his clothes and helped Willow do the same. Once they were naked, Willow pulled him down to lay beside her.

"So beautiful." Willow said, stroking his face.

"Beautiful, luv? No, you're more than that. You're perfect."

Willow blushed as he turned her compliment around. Spike's lips met hers again, their tongues battling briefly for dominance before Spike bit hers lightly causing her to moan. Spike led the kiss and let his hands run over her body. As his fingertips grazed lightly upon her skin, Willow giggled into the kiss. Spike pulled away and grinned, which only made Willow giggle more.

"You ticklish, luv?" Spike asked, his hands moving lower.

"Very." Willow answered.

"I'll have to remember that." He said as he slip his fingers through her curls.

He felt her wetness and Willow moaned as a finger brushed against her clit. Spike responded by beginning to flick her swollen nub back and forth. She captured his lips again and bucked her hips against his hand.

Spike's painfully hard erection pressed against her stomach and he knew he had to have her soon. He plunged a finer into her tight channel causing her to cry out. Slowly he added a second finger and stretched her until he could add a third. His thumb circled her clit and she shivered at the sensations. Spike chuckled softly into her mouth as she trembled beneath him.

Willow knew she was close. She reached down and wrapped her fingers around Spike's cock and pumped her hand against him. His light chuckle became a groan and his fingers seemed to double their efforts in answer to her stroking. Willow ran her thumb over his tip and squeezed him lightly as her passion grew.

She broke their kiss and screamed out in pleasure as her orgasm took her. She felt Spike brush her hand away from his erection and roll her over onto her back. She spread her legs instinctively and he positioned himself above her.

He cupped her face with one hand. "Willow, you still with me, luv?"

Willow looked up at him through glazed eyes and nodded. "Just feels so good. You feel so good."

Spike grinned at her. "It's only going to get better."

Willow's eyes widened as her post-orgasmic bliss lessened and she felt the tip of his cock at her entrance. She looked at his face and realized how hard he was fighting for control. She reached up and traced his face with her fingers, drawing his attention down to her.

"Take me, Spike."

Spike immediately thrust his hips forward plunging himself inside of her. They both cried out and Willow clung to him as her body adjusted. After a few short moments she began to move against him.

"You okay, pet?" Spike asked, his voice tight with control.

"More than okay, Spike. Now, quit holding back and just take me!"

He growled in response to her words and began thrusting. She met each thrust with one of her own and both began to lose themselves to the feel of the other. She was hot and very tight, and Spike knew he wouldn't last long. He reached between their bodies and twisted her clit. Willow screamed out as wave upon wave of pleasure swept over her. Spike pounded into her faster and harder, his demon coming forward. He roared her name as he came, shooting his cold seed inside her.

They lay together for a long time, holding on tight. Spike kissed her lightly and withdrew. Willow smiled at him and he kissed her nose.

She reached up and grabbed his face, kissing him hard on the lips. She smiled once again as she broke away. She rolled over onto her side and Spike spooned in behind her.

"Don't leave." Willow said softly as she drifted to sleep.

"I'm not going anywhere." Spike answered, his arms tightening around her.

Willow walked down the hall with a smile on her face. She and Spike had made love all afternoon. She couldn't believe how happy she was. She made her way to her lover, grinning like a fool the entire way.

"Spike?" Willow called as she entered his bedroom. "Sarah just told me that there are some people at the door – they're looking for you."

Spike came out of his bedroom and smiled at the redhead. "Thanks, luv. I'll be downstairs."

Willow stared after Spike as he walked out of the room. He hadn't even kissed her! Confused, Willow tried to shake it off and headed to her room so she could call Buffy privately.

She sat down on her bed and held the phone in her hands. She couldn't help but wonder why she was so upset. Spike hadn't done anything wrong ... he'd just gone downstairs without inviting her to join him so she could meet his friends. And then, there was that annoying little fact that he hadn't kissed her. Sighing, she hit the talk button and dialed the number.

"Hi, you've reached Buffy and Willow's room – neither one of us is here right now, so leave us a message and we'll call you back!"

Willow's eyes closed in frustration as she heard her own overly cheerful voice come across the line. She just hung up-what was the point of leaving Buffy a message? It would probably be unchecked on the machine when Willow and Spike returned to Sunnydale. Deciding to call Giles, Willow dialed the phone again.

"Giles residence," a female voice said.

"Olivia?" Willow asked.

"Yes, who's this?"

"It's Willow. Is Giles around?"

"Sure, hang on the line, okay?"

Willow remained silent as she heard Olivia call Giles to the phone.

"Willow?" he asked. "Where are you?"

Willow grinned in spite of herself. "I'm in the land of Giles."

"Pardon me?" he asked again.

"England, Giles. I'm in London, actually."

There was a pause on the line before Giles spoke again. "You're with Spike, aren't you?"

Willow gasped in surprise. "How'd you know?"

"I put two and two together. Are you insane? Has he hurt you? Is the chip still working? What were you thinking?" he demanded.

"Woah, Giles. Calm down. In order ... no, I'm not insane; no, he hasn't hurt me; the chip is still working fine, and I was thinking I needed to have some fun."

"Willow, you've always been the level headed one. I don't understand why you would run off with a known killer – even if he is unable to kill at the moment. You're making a mistake," Giles said harshly.

Willow tried hard not to let his words hurt her. She took a deep breath and decided to try again.

"Giles, let me explain. I needed to get out of Sunnydale. Spike had business to attend to here – he invited me to come along and I did." She said.

"And that's it? He's there doing business and you're just along for the ride?" Giles questioned.

Willow blinked back angry tears wondering why Giles was being so harsh.

"Giles, we'll talk when I get back, okay? I've gotta go. This is an expensive call. I just wanted to let you know that I'm okay. Tell the others, please? I'll be home soon," Willow said, irritation evident in her voice.

"Willow, we should discuss-" Giles began – his voice still distant and cold.

"We will. When I get home. I'll see you soon," she said.

Not giving the man any more time to object, Willow hung up. A bit angry at Giles for not trusting her, Willow decided that invitation or no invitation, she was going downstairs. Spike would just have to deal with it.

Spike was sitting in the living room with four vampires. All of them were strong – and all of them were of his line. He'd Sired three of them, and the fourth was his Grandchilde. They were all being pleasant, and so far, Spike had managed to keep his current status concealed – they had no idea he couldn't hunt.

"So, Spike, how's the Hellmouth?" his oldest Childe asked.

Spike grinned. "Always a party."

Laughter filled the room as Willow walked into the lounge. Spike immediately jumped up and went to her side, taking her arm. His chip flared a bit signaling that he was hurting her. He ignored it and pulled her back to where he'd been sitting.

"What's this?" one of the vampires asked. "Dinner?"

Willow tensed and automatically tried to pull away from Spike. He held her tightly and hardened his face.

"Sire?" he was questioned.

Spike's eyes flashed yellow as he looked at his Childer. "Mine," he said firmly.

The others growled slightly at the tone he used. "She's human," one of them said.

Spike's eye's narrowed. "For now," he answered.

Willow, realizing now the reason why Spike hadn't invited her down was to keep her safe, tried to keep her fear in check. It wouldn't be good if the visiting vampires sensed it. Deciding to try to calm the situation, Willow smiled slightly and looked around the room.

"You called him Sire," she said, addressing a dark haired vampire. "Who are you?"

All four vampires seemed to relax at her soothing tone. The one Willow addressed stood and walked up to her. He held out his hand, and without hesitating, Willow took it. He brought it up to his mouth and kissed it gently.

"My name is Seth. I am Spike's oldest Childe," he said. Motioning to a young male with blue hair, he said, "And this is Regan, my Childe."

Willow smiled again in greeting and looked at the other two. Both of them stood and repeated Seth's actions. They introduced themselves as Donegan and Everett, Spike's Childer.

"This is Willow," Spike said. "Respect her and we won't have any problems. Is that understood, boys?"

The events of the last hour haunted Willow as she walked up the stairs. Spike had just left with his "family". She had no idea how he was going to pull it off, but he had agreed to go hunting with them. Not knowing what else to do, Willow went into her room and sat down on the bed.

The stories the vampires had told downstairs still rang in her head. They'd relived the past by way of graphic stories detailing their gruesome acts. Spike had joined in and had shared more about his life as a vampire than Giles' Watcher Diaries ever told. He was a monster in every sense of the word. She'd listened in silence, only speaking when spoken to. Spike had noticed her tension and had done his best to sooth her – stroking her hair, rubbing her shoulders, and holding her tightly in his lap. Willow knew he'd tried not to scare her, but his words had still shocked her.

Sighing, she remembered his last words to her as he'd left with them.

"Don't plan on sleeping in your room tonight. You won't be safe alone," he'd said as he discretely kissed her goodbye.

Knowing that she had no real choice in the matter, Willow gathered up some of her things and went to Spike's room. Her thoughts were heavy and the words Giles had spoken to her earlier echoed through her head. What if he was right? What if she was making a mistake by trusting Spike?

She thought back on the events that had occurred since that last night in Sunnydale. He'd seemed so sincere! And he'd been so loving ... could he be lying to her?

In his bed alone, Willow cried herself to sleep.

Spike left his Childer in their rooms and headed to his own. His demon was roaring in anger and needed an outlet. He'd just spent five hours watching his family hunt as vampires were supposed to do. Claiming to not be hungry, he'd managed to not give himself away. He'd never know why they'd believed him, but Spike was very glad they did.

Upon returning to his estate, he'd snuck quietly into the kitchen and drank three bags of blood. And though his hunger was quelled, he was still frustrated beyond belief. Spike knew that he shouldn't be around Willow in his condition- but didn't want her to be alone either. He'd laid a verbal claim to the redhead when she'd first appeared that evening, but since he was unable to back that claim up with a bite ...

He opened his door and saw her asleep in his bed. The smell of salt lingered in the air and he knew she'd been crying. Walking over to the bed, Spike leaned down and stoked her hair. Willow stirred and slowly opened her eyes.

"Red," he said.

Willow tried to smile, but Spike was scaring her.

"What's wrong, luv?" Spike asked, his tone rather harsh.

Willow recoiled slightly. "With me? Nothing – Spike, what's wrong?"

He smirked. "What makes you think something is wrong?"

"Well, you're all grrr ..." she said softly.

Spike, realizing for the first time that he was vamped out, sat down on the bed and tried to calm down. Willow forced him to turn to her and ran her finger tips over his ridges.

"What's wrong?" she asked again.

Spike leaned into her touch, his demon quieting. "Hard to explain, pet. It all gets down to the fact that I am a vampire who can't hunt."

Willow nodded. "Them being here is hard, huh?"

Spike's still yellow eyes met her green ones. "You have no idea. I wish you'd stayed up here tonight."

Willow looked down. "I'm sorry. I was angry and ..."

"Angry? At me?" Spike asked.

Willow nodded. "At you, at Giles, at me."

"Is everything alright now, Willow?"

Willow slowly raised her head and met his eyes again. "Tonight was hard on me, Spike."

He nodded. "I know. I could tell. I'm sorry you had to hear all of that."

Willow shook her head. "No. I needed to. It makes what I'm about to say easier."

Spike tensed slightly and Willow took his hand. "Spike, I realized tonight for the first time in a long time that you are a demon. I guess them putting that chip in your head made me forget how dangerous you are. But, tonight I realized that if you could, you would be out there killing people. Killing people who I have fought to protect for years."

"Willow," Spike began. "What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I am going to have to work really hard at accepting what you are if we are going to make this relationship work."

Spike grinned. "Relationship, luv?"

Willow slapped his arm. "Yes, relationship. We have a relationship, Spike. Deal with it."

Spike pulled her into a hug and held her tight. "You really mean that? That you're going to accept me as I am and not try to change me?"

"I couldn't change you even if I tried. And yes, I meant every word," Willow answered.

Spike pulled back a little and lifted her chin. Kissing her lightly on the lips, he laid them down.

"Am I safe here?" Willow asked.

"As long as you're in my arms, Willow, you are safe. I'll protect you no matter what."

Willow wrapped her arms around him and buried her face into his chest. "I trust you, Spike."

Spike tensed slightly. "Maybe you shouldn't."

Willow hugged him tighter. "I know."

They didn't make love that night. Spike held her as she slept, listening to her heartbeat.

Chapter 5
Possession: Kiss You So Hard

The next three days passed quietly for Willow. Spike continued to entertain his Childer and pretended to hunt with them each night. Willow explored London on her own during the day and wondered how Spike kept up his charade every night. She and Spike didn't have much alone time – in fact, the only time that it was just the two of them was when they were in his bed – and he stayed as far away from her as possible then.

Willow often found herself wondering why they hadn't made love again. She didn't understand why Spike was acting like he was, and sometimes she wondered if he'd ever touch her again. And, it seemed to Willow, the worst part of the entire situation was that somehow she had grown to need Spike in the short time they'd been together. And she wondered what that meant. It was during a moment of such wondering that she let time get away from her.

"Well, well, well," a voice said. "If it isn't the Sire's little plaything."

Willow tensed at the tone of the voice and turned slowly around. She was standing in the living room and had thought herself alone.

"You scared, little girl?" Seth asked.

Willow shook her head. "No."

He smirked at her. "I smell your fear."

Willow tried not to flinch. Standing straighter, she looked the vampire in the eyes. "I may be scared a bit at the situation, but believe me when I say that I am not scared of you. I have seen things much more scary than you," she said.

Lifting one eyebrow, Seth motioned her to join him on the couch. As she sat down, he asked, "Things scarier than I? Such as?"

It was Willow's turn to smirk. "A couple of apocalypses, an attempted ascension, the Judge, Angelus, and let's not forget the time my mother tried to burn me at the stake. Now, that was scary!"

Seth was having a hard time not laughing at the expression on her face. "Why would your mother try to do that?"

"MOO. Mothers Opposed to the Occult. I'm um ... the Occult."

"How so?" Seth asked.

"Well, I'm a witch," Willow said simply.

Seth regarded the small waif-like woman beside him. "Let your shields down," he said.

Willow glanced at him and cocked an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

Seth rolled his eyes. "Your shields – the ones that mask your power. Cause, either you have them up, or your not a very powerful witch."

Willow glared at the dark haired vampire. "Oh, I'm powerful," she said as she dropped the well patented shields.

Seth sucked in an unneeded breath. The redhead was strong. "Well, well, no wonder Spike likes you ..."

Spike woke to find himself alone. Willow wasn't in the room. Glancing at the clock, he almost leapt out of bed. It was after dark – he'd overslept by about an hour. Throwing on a pair of jeans, he rushed downstairs.

His mind churned with possibilities. Seth and the others wouldn't sense a claim on her – Willow wasn't guaranteed safety. He paused in the main hall outside of the lounge and listened. They were all in there. He looked into the room and growled slightly at the sight. Seth was sitting beside Willow on the couch. Everett sat on Willow's other side, with the other two vampires in chairs around the living room. Calming himself, Spike entered the room.

"'Lo, all," he said casually as he leaned against the wall. Pulling his cigarettes from his pocket, he lit one.

"Evening, Spike," Seth called.

"Spike!" Willow said excitedly. "Did you sleep well?"

Spike nodded. "'Course I did, luv. Boys, you been keeping my Red company long?"

Donegan, sensing Spike's anger, answered quickly. "She's been keeping us company, actually. Telling us stories, she is."

Spike looked at Willow, surprised. "Stories, luv?"

"Oh, you know," Willow began. "Stories about growing up on the Hellmouth and stuff."

Seth met Spike's eyes. "Quite the girl you've got, Spike," he said.

Spike's eyes flashed amber as he answered. "Yes. My girl is something else."

Seth nodded slightly, letting Spike know he knew the rules. Relaxing a bit, Spike took one last drag on his smoke before addressing his guests.

"You boys up for something a bit different tonight?" he asked.

Interested, they all looked up and waited. Spike smirked before continuing. "Since you boys arrived I've been a bit preoccupied. And my little Red has been neglected. Did you know that she has been showing herself around London?"

Four sets of eyes whipped from Spike onto Willow. She blushed immediately from the attention, but tried to smile.

"What?" she asked. "It's not like you guys could have gone with me! I've only been out during the day."

Laughter filled the room. "My dear, that's the point. You need to go out at night," Everett said.

"Well, I'd like to, but I refuse to go out by myself. I may have seen a lot in my time, but I'm not stupid."

"Smart girl," Donegan said. "I believe we're up to the challenge, Sire."

Willow's eyes darted to Spike. "Challenge?" she asked.

"Go get dressed, luv. We're gonna show you the town," Spike said with a grin.

Willow only hesitated for a moment before getting up to go and change. The look in Spike's eyes told her to trust him. Smiling as she left the room, she said, "If you boys think that I'm going to go out with you all looking like you are, well ..." she let the sentence trail off.

About halfway up the stairs Willow heard Donegan snicker before Spike stuck his head out of the room. "Are you saying we look bad?" he called.

Willow's laughter rang through the house as she left the vampires to figure it out on their own that she'd been teasing.

Willow quickly showered and wrapped a towel around her body. She moved from the bathroom into her bedroom and tried to decide what to wear. She was still standing in front of her closet twenty minutes later when Spike entered her room. He was wearing his customary black jeans and black tee shirt. Over the top of that, he'd worn his blood red button down. Willow couldn't stop the wave of arousal that shot through her upon seeing him.

"Luv?" Spike asked under her gaze. "Is this not right? Were you wanting something fancier?"

Willow shook her head. "You look incredible," she said huskily.

Spike hardened immediately at her tone. Willow turned back to the closet and let the towel slip from her body. Spike began to smell her arousal as it drifted towards him. Stifling a groan, Spike walked slowly up to the naked woman standing before him. He stopped merely inches from her and waited.

"What should I wear, Spike?" Willow asked.

Spike pressed up against her. "Me," he said, his hands snaking around to cup her breasts.

Willow moaned at the contact and thrust back into Spike's hips. Her hands reached up and grabbed his head, bringing his face down to her neck. Spike growled and nipped at the skin with blunt teeth. Willow shuddered and turned around.

"I've missed this." She said.

Spike flinched. "I only wanted to protect you, luv. That's all. I didn't mean to botch anything up."

Willow nodded and stepped closer to him. "I think I know that now. But it still hurt, Spike. You've been ignoring me."

"Better make it up to you then."

Willow squealed as Spike pulled her against his hard body. The passion in his eyes set her on fire. He pulled her into a hot kiss, backing her up against the closet door in the process. As his hands explored her body, Willow rained kisses down on his face and jaw. When his fingers found her moist heat, Willow threw her head back and moaned loudly. Encouraged, Spike continued his attentions, teasing her with soft touches while kissing her neck.

Willow felt like she was going to explode. Spike was touching her – but not enough. She felt like screaming out in frustration. "Spike, please," she begged.

"Please what, Red?"

"Take me to bed."

Spike lifted her effortlessly and carried her to her bed. He lay her down and undressed before crawling up her body. His fingers quickly found her core and he worked them in a frenzy, bringing Willow to a quick climax. Before she could come down, he sheathed himself inside her and began to pump in and out in a rapid rhythm. Willow screamed out his name as she came again and thrust her hips up to meet his. Spike kissed her hard as he pounded in to her repeatedly. Willow kissed him back with equal passion. Both of them knew he was close. Spike reached down and began flicking her clit back and forth.

Willow moaned loudly and met his eyes. "Make me yours, Spike," she said.

Spike, caught up in the feeling of being inside of her didn't hesitate. Just as he was about to come, he slipped into his vampire visage and slid his fangs into her neck.

Willow screamed as they came together.

Spike stared at the mark he'd made on Willow's throat. Willow was caught somewhere between shock and giddy happiness. Sensing Spike's tension, Willow ran a hand down his arm, drawing his attention to her.

"It's okay, Spike," she said.

"I bit you. How did I do that?" he asked.

Willow smiled. "I wanted you to. And you didn't hurt me. Quite the opposite, actually," she said.

"I didn't hurt you?"

"No, Spike. Um ... what does this mean?"

Spike grinned. "Exactly what you wanted it to. You're mine."

Willow smiled. "Yours?"

"Forever, luv," he said.

"Why?" she asked.

"Why? Why what, Red?" Spike questioned.

"Well, why does you biting me make me yours?" she clarified.

"I claimed you, Willow. No other vampire can touch you without my permission. And no other man will ever lay a hand on you. You. Are. Mine. Forever," he said.

Willow kissed Spike tenderly. "Are you mine, Spike?"

"Yes, luv. I'm yours," he answered.

Willow smiled and kissed him again before getting up out of the bed.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?" Spike demanded.

Willow turned and looked at him. "To get dressed, of course. You promised me a night out on the town."

Spike looked at her in shock. "You still expect to go out? After what just happened?"

"You don't want to?" she questioned.

Spike glared at her. "No, I don't. What I want is for you to get your cute little ass back in this bed and let me ravage you some more. I'm not finished with you yet."

Willow grinned. "There will be plenty of time for that later. Right now, I want to go out."

Spike sighed and got up to get dressed. He knew he wasn't going to win.

"Spike?" Willow called from the closet. "Where are we going?"

Spike tilted his head to her. "Demon bar. Why?"

"Just asking," she answered as she slipped into the bathroom.

Spike sat on the bed and lit a cigarette. He only had to wait a few minutes for a dressed Willow to come back out.

"Holy shit, Red," he exclaimed as he took in her appearance.

Willow smirked at his expression. "Go downstairs and find the others. I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Don't wanna. Wanna stay here and look at you," Spike said, still staring.

Willow laughed. "Go. I'll be down there soon and you and eyeball me all you want."

Walking up to her, Spike captured her lips. "Mine," he said possessively.

"Darn tootin'," Willow said.

Spike stood alone in the main hall waiting. He'd been there about five minutes when Seth and the others entered the house from outside.

"Where have you four been?" he asked.

"Got hungry," Seth began. "And since you were ... busy ... we decided to go grab a bite to eat.

Spike nodded. "Find anyone good?"

Donegan grinned. "Just the usual," he said.

Seth regarded Spike carefully. "You eat?" he asked.

Spike nodded, his eyes wide. He was starring up the stairs. The others turned and had to stifle groans of appreciation. Willow was walking down from the second floor looking absolutely amazing. She was wearing tight, black crushed velvet pants with a red v-necked shirt. High heels and a tailored leather jacket round off the ensemble, and Willow walked with confidence – Spike's mark proudly bared on her throat.

"Gentlemen," she said as she took the last step. "You ready?"

Spike took her hand and pulled her to him, his lips descending on hers as soon as she was close enough. The other vampires looked on jealous for a moment before Seth spoke and broke the sexual tension.

"Sire, should we start calling Willow Mum?"

Willow broke away from Spike's kiss and laughed. "You wouldn't dare," she said with a smile.

"Where're we going?" Regan questioned.

Spike grinned. "Anyone up for spot of dancing?"

Willow walked happily between Everett and Donegan after an evening of dancing and drinking. Willow had only a few drinks while her companions had enjoyed themselves immensely.

Seth and Spike were walking several feet away carrying on a drunken conversation with Regan about the finer points of being a vampire. Willow had discovered that the youngest vampire among them was only ten years old, and still had a lot to learn. She did feel a bit sorry for him at the moment, though. Spike and Seth were trying to annoy the younger vampire by pretending to be quite drunker than they were. They were slurring their words, getting right up in Regan's face, and the worst part ... they were repeating themselves.

"Did you have fun tonight, Willow?" Everett asked.

Willow smiled and nodded.

"Ya know, I never thought I'd see the day when our Sire would claim a human," Donegan said.

Willow tilted her head toward him and questioned, "Is it so bad that he has?"

Donegan and Everett shook their heads. "It's not all that uncommon, in fact," Everett began. "Donnie and I have both found love with a human before. Thing was, the humans ended up not being who we thought them to be."

Willow's eyes saddened. "They ended up hurting you?"

"Yes," they answered softly.

Willow reached out and took their hands. "I know what that feels like," she said. "Having your heart broken bites the big one, huh?"

Both vampires laughed. "Willow, you are truly an amazing woman," Donegan said.

Willow smiled. "So, what's next? I mean, do you guys have homes?"

Everett nodded. "I'm the only one of us who lives in London. Seth and Regan travel around the world – never stopping for long. And Donnie, well, he'll never leave Ireland for any length of time. I suppose we'll all be moving on here in a few days."

Willow nodded. "How did you know Spike was here?"

"Felt him. I knew he was in town, so I contacted the rest of the family and we decided to pay dear old Daddy a visit," Everett said with a smile.

"I'll have you know, Everett, that I am not old," Spike said as he walked over to them.

Willow looked up and smiled. "Hi," she said.

Spike grinned at her. Donegan and Everett took their cue to leave and joined Seth and Regan. Willow smiled as Spike slipped his arms around her. Wrapping an arm around his waist, Willow snuggled in close to him.

"Have fun talking with my kids, pet?"

Willow nodded into his side. "Yeah, but they're afraid I'll hurt you."

Spike pulled away and looked down at her. "You hurt me?"

Willow nodded again. "Like they've been hurt."

Understanding shone in Spike's eyes. "Will you?" he asked.

Willow stopped walking. Taking Spike's hands in hers, she looked up into his eyes. "Spike, I will not intentionally hurt you. I can only promise that I will be faithful to you, respect you, and love you as best I can."

Spike's eyes flashed. "You love me?" he asked.

Willow smiled. "You honestly think I'd let you bite me if I didn't?"

Spike pulled her closer. "You love me?" he asked again.

"Yes, Spike, I love you," Willow said softly.

Spike grinned wildly and lifted her into his arms. Spinning them around in a circle, he whispered in her ear, "I love you, too, Willow."

Willow giggled like mad as Spike twirled her around.

"MINE," Spike shouted as he brought Willow back down to the ground and then kissed her passionately.

The four vampires across the street watched in silence as the eldest member of their family group danced the redhead around in the dark. "Well, I guess it's official," Donegan said. "We have a new Mum."

Chapter 6
Tombstone: The Origin of Species

Willow and Spike stood silently in the doorway. The visiting vampires had just left and Spike refused to return inside just yet.

"Spike?" Willow asked.

"Yeah, luv?"

"Are you all right?" she asked.

Spike sighed. "Yeah, luv," he said. "I'm more than all right. I'm relieved."

Willow looked at him in question. "About what?" she asked.

Spike turned and pulled her into the house, shutting the door behind them. They walked hand in hand into the living room and sat down on the couch.

"I'm relieved that they're gone. I enjoyed seeing them, but I was on edge the entire time they were here. It's been a long week, pet," Spike said quietly.

Willow put a hand on his face and felt the tension there. "Things weren't so bad in the end," she said.

Spike shook his head. "No they weren't, at least not during the last two days they were here. But, Willow, that was after they'd accepted you," he said.

"Oh," she whispered.

Spike pulled her into a tight hug. "Red, I'm not sure what would have happened if they'd decided they didn't like you ... or if they'd found out about the chip."

Willow nodded. "How did you keep them from finding that out, anyway?"

"Luck, pure and simple," Spike said. "I'm still not sure how. And I'm almost positive Donegan suspects something isn't right."

"I guess I got lucky too, huh?" she asked.

"Yes, luv, you did. We both did." Spike said.

They sat in silence for a while before Spike spoke again. "We'll leave tomorrow night," he said.

Willow nodded. Christmas was a week away and she really did need to get back to Sunnydale. She couldn't avoid her friends forever, after all.

"Let's go to bed, Spike," she said.

Willow woke up the next morning to an empty bed. A rose and a note sat atop Spike's pillow. Willow read the eloquent note and tears filled her eyes.

Dearest Willow,

I am with Stephen Greene downstairs. I'm sorry that you had to wake up alone- please forgive me. I've made arrangements to leave London tonight. We'll be leaving at seven this evening.

Today, Willow, I want you to do something for me. Please go to 817 Pope Road. Look way in the back on the left hand side. Hathaway.

Red, I have enjoyed the last week and a half more than I ever could have dreamed. You have a fire inside you that makes me feel like all the things I've seen and done already in my life will pale in comparison to our future.

I want you to understand, though, that I will handle this however you wish. If you want to go back to Sunnydale and pretend none of this ever happened, I'll go along.

I love you, Willow. I love you more than I've ever loved anything in my life- living or undead. But, even though I know the feelings are real, I also realize how sudden this all is. Where we go from here is completely your choice.

817 Pope Road. Far left. Hathaway.

I love you,
Spike

Willow rose out of the bed and got dressed. She wore jeans and a sweater and comfortable shoes. Her gut told her she knew where she was going and dressed to accommodate comfort and warmth.

After running a brush through her hair, she headed down to the kitchen for a quick breakfast.

Willow finished the note she was writing and quickly read over her words.

Spike,

Good morning! I hope you don't mind me sending this in with Sarah. She'll be bringing the tea and your snack in soon anyway. I just don't want to disturb you and Mr. Greene. (Tell him hi for me, by the way.)

I am going to go pick up some things for my friends and then go to that place you want me to see. I'll be back in plenty of time, okay?

It's cold out today, so I've asked Sarah to arrange a driver for me. Again, I hope you don't mind. I'll be back this afternoon. We'll talk about our future then.

In the meantime, know this: I love you.

Spike, there aren't enough words to describe how much I love you. And yes, it is sudden. But, so be it.

I love you.

See you soon,
Willow

Willow folded the note once and handed it to Sarah. The older woman smiled and in exchange handed Willow her coat and a travel mug of tea.

"You be careful out there today, dear."

Willow walked, packages in hand, up to the gates of the cemetery. Her heartbeat began to quicken as she opened the tall gate and walked in. Momentarily, she regretted telling the driver he could leave. She shook the slight fear off, though, because she knew she didn't want an audience for this.

The cemetery was old. Willow took a minute to marvel at the beauty and antiquity of the place before beginning to walk to the far left side of the land. She stopped when she reached the Hathaway family plot. She quickly skimmed over the names until she found the one that Spike had sent her here to see.

William James Hathaway
1854 – 1880
Beloved son, cherished friend.

It was simple and to the point. And the message her lover had wanted her to get was clear. Spike was dead. And she was not.

Willow sat on the ground next to the tombstone and traced the faded wording with her fingertips. Memories flooded her mind ... her first, very violent introduction to vampires; Moloch; Spike and Dru plotting to kill them; Angelus; and countless other horrifying experiences which blended with her memories of the last few weeks. Half of her rejoiced for finally finding a love that filled her up and made her happy, but the other half rebelled against the feelings, afraid. Her mind confused, Willow thought over the facts. She knew what had happened in the past, and she knew what was happening in the present. It was the future that worried her.

She was dating a vampire. More than that, she was sleeping with a vampire. Even further than that, she had been claimed by a vampire. The repercussions of that were astounding. Spike had already told her that he intended to keep her for an eternity. She shuddered as she pictured her "vampire self". Willow knew without a doubt that she did not want to be a vampire. But she also knew she didn't want to live without Spike. But, how could she live with him when he himself wasn't alive?

Time slipped away from her and she didn't even realize it was dark until she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. She didn't move.

"Willow?" Spike asked quietly.

"Hi," she said weakly.

"What are you doing, luv?" he asked.

"You're already dead," Willow stated.

"Yes," Spike said.

"Spike, how can you be willing to love me?" she asked.

"What?" Spike exclaimed.

Willow started to cry. "I'm going to die! And I'm going to get old! And probably not in that order."

Spike knelt beside her and stoked her cheek. All of his previous thoughts fled as soon as he touched her skin. "Willow, you're frozen! You're skin is colder than mine," he said.

Willow just nodded. "And I think I'm stuck to the ground."

"Why in the hell ... woman ... Christ!" Spike managed through clenched teeth, his eyes yellow.

Willow flinched and bit her lip. "You're mad at me?"

Spike growled. "You could have bloody well killed yourself! You probably have frost bite! My god, woman!"

Willow lifted her eyes to his. "Spike?" she asked.

"What?"

"I'm cold. Take me home?"

Spike sighed as he gathered her gently into his arms. "Yeah, luv."

Willow lay on the bed wrapped up tightly in several blankets. She could barely feel Spike's arms holding her through the material.

"Did you decide anything today, Red?" Spike asked finally.

"I don't want to live without you," Willow said.

"You won't," Spike said quietly. "I'm not going anywhere, luv."

Willow nodded. "But, Spike, I don't think I want to be a vampire, either."

Spike laughed suddenly. "Well, pet, yeah. I don't want you to be a vampire either. I thought I did, but now, I've decided that I like you the way you are. I think I'm turning into a Poof."

Willow was confused. "But ..."

"There are ways, Willow. Rituals and the like ... when the time comes, there are ways," Spike said.

Willow thought for several minutes as Spike continued to hold her. In two simple revelations Spike had answered all of the questions that had kept her frozen to the ground all afternoon. He wasn't going to turn her and there were ways for them to be together forever. She wondered if he would always have the answer to everything. She smiled at the thought of having an always with Spike. And it was then that she made her decision.

"I love you, Spike. And I am not ashamed of that. If you're willing to stand my by side, then I'll stay beside you, too. And you're not a Poof," she said.

Spike said nothing as he pealed away the blankets. When she was finally unwrapped, he laid beside her and kissed her softly for several minutes. Finally pulling away, he grinned.

"So, you'll be keeping Slutty and her Mr. Pointy away from me, then?" he asked.

Willow giggled. "Yup. But, don't call her that, okay?"

Spike just smirked. "You warmer now?"

Willow smiled. "Much better."

Spike kissed her once more before helping her up off the bed. "Good. We've got to hurry. Our plane leaves in an hour."

Willow looked at him a bit confused. "I thought I'd have made us miss it."

Spike smiled. "You did. That's why I moved our departure to ten. We'll be arriving in New York City about an hour before the sun comes up there. If we hurry."

Willow just nodded and let him lead the way.

Chapter 7
American Beauty

"Damn you, Red! Move your ass!" Spike shouted as he pushed Willow out of the way and rushed into the hotel lobby seconds before the first rays of sunlight hit the doorway.

Willow lay on the ground where she landed laughing her head off. Spike glared at her from where he stood safely away from the sun. He glanced around and saw that the lobby was blessedly empty.

Getting up, he walked over to his mate. "What the bloody hell is so funny? I almost combusted! And you're laughing!"

Willow just laughed harder. "I've never seen you panic before, baby. It was funny as hell."

"Witch..." Spike began.

"Yeah, you've got that right, Spike. Witch. I'm a witch. And a powerful one at that. Do you honestly think I would have let you get hurt? If I had actually thought that you were in real danger ..." Willow said.

Spike's glare hardened. "You let me suffer?"

"Suffer? Oh, please. Bottle in the face ring a bell? Scaring the shit out of me in my dorm room that time?"

Spike couldn't help but grin. "Payback's a bitch, innit, luv?"

Willow just started laughing again. Spike heard a noise and turned towards it.

He smiled at the man who had appeared at the front desk. "Good morning, I have a reservation. The name's Hathaway," Spike said as he approached the desk.

Smiling, the man nodded. "Ah, yes. William, correct?"

Spike nodded. "That's right. I expect you'll be needing my credit card, ay?"

As Spike settled things with the clerk, he saw – out of the corner of his eye – that Willow was no longer on the floor. Taking the key from the man, Spike turned to see his love standing with a middle-aged couple talking rapidly and very wide-eyed.

He approached slowly, gaining her attention. She smiled at him and motioned for him to join her.

"Wondered where you got off to," he said as he walked up to the small group.

Willow's smile widened as he wrapped his arm around her waist. "William," she said in greeting.

"The friend you were telling us about, dear?" the man asked.

Willow nodded. "Mom, Dad, this is William Hathaway. William, these are my parents, Ira and Sheila Rosenberg."

Spike's eyes widened in shock. "Hello," he said in his 'sophisticated' voice, reaching a hand out to Willow's father. "This is certainly a surprise."

Ira laughed and shook Spike's hand. "Oh, and for us as well. We're in town for a seminar, and imagine our surprise when we see our daughter in the lobby!"

Willow smiled. "We're on our way back to Sunnydale – this is just a day trip. We've been in England most of the holiday break."

Sheila's eyes lit up. "England? Which city?"

"London, Mom. I was meeting William's family," Willow answered.

Ira smiled. "And they loved you, of course," he said brightly.

"She was simply smashing. Would you two care to join us for breakfast?" Spike asked.

Together Ira and Sheila shook their heads.

"Oh, we couldn't. We've got to get over to the University – our first seminar is in an hour and I'm afraid we're not positive on where to go..." Sheila said, trailing off.

Willow nodded. "Of course, Mother. I'll see you and Dad in April, right? That's when your tour ends?"

Ira thought for a moment before nodding. "Yes, we'll be in Sunnydale for about three weeks in April, we'll have to get together then for dinner."

"Sure," Willow said.

Spike watched the scene in shock. Lost in thought, he merely mumbled that it was nice meeting them and watched them walk away. Turning to Willow with his eyes full of questions, he waited for her to speak.

"Yeah. Those were my parents. It used to really bother me – the way they are – but now, well, I guess I'm used to it. They give me money and pay for my school, and I see them about once a year. Sometimes twice, it just depends on their schedules."

Spike saw the hurt in her eyes even though she was trying to hide it. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he kissed her temple. "You hungry, luv?"

Willow shook her head. "No, but I'd like a bath."

"I do believe that can be arranged. Shall we?"

Willow woke slowly and looked at the clock. It was only two in the afternoon. Smiling she rolled over and kissed Spike's cheek.

"I'm getting up now, Spike," she said quietly, thinking he wouldn't hear her.

His arms tightened around her as she tried to get out of the bed. "Where exactly do you think you're going, Red?"

Willow allowed him to pull her back onto the bed. "Spike, I have something I need to take care of. I've never been to New York and there are some people I'd like to meet. People I kinda work for ... so, let me up, okay?"

Spike growled, still not releasing her. "People you work for?"

Willow smiled. "Yeah – you remember me telling Stephen Greene about the Atlantis Corporation?"

Spike nodded into her hair. "Yeah. Seems your investment tip paid off – I'm now the proud owner of quite a bit of their stock ... apparently they just sold something and the investment just became much more lucrative."

Willow giggled.

"What's so funny, Red?"

"I kinda inside traded." Willow said.

"You work for them? You are employed by this Atlantis Corp.?"

Willow nodded. "Have been since I was 17. I develop software programs for them. That something that they just sold? I developed it."

"You're a bad girl, Red," Spike said as he kissed her neck.

"I'm a rebel," Willow said, turning to face her vampire. Their lips met in a sensual kiss.

Willow pulled away, breathless. "You're taking me out tonight before we leave, right?"

Spike nodded, running his hands over her body. "That's the plan."

Willow kissed him again before getting out of the bed.

Spike glared at her. "Witch-" he began.

"Spike, I told you – I'm going out for a while. If I agree to stay in bed, well, you'd convince me to stay all afternoon. And I want to go meet my employers. If it's such a big deal you can punish me later."

Spike hardened instantly at her words. "You don't know what you're saying, pet."

Willow grinned and looked back at him. "I don't?" she asked.

"No."

"I guess you'll have to teach me, then," she said as she entered the bathroom.

Spike glanced at the clock. Willow had been gone for hours. She was supposed to be with him. He'd wanted to shag her senseless all day before showing her the town. Looking outside he saw that sunset was nearing, and his internal clock screamed that he had about forty-five minutes before night began. Rising from the bed, Spike headed off to shower.

Twenty minutes later he emerged from the bathroom to find the room still Willow-less. Growling softly, he began to get dressed for the evening. He was putting on his shoes when he heard the key card slide into the door.

Willow entered the room slowly with a dazed look on her face. She walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge.

"Hi," she said.

"Pet." Spike answered, his voice tight.

Willow looked up when she realized something was wrong. Her thoughts vanished as she saw the look on Spike's face.

"Spike?" she questioned.

"Where have you been?"

"I told you – I went to the Atlantis Corp.-" she began.

"You've been gone for hours, Red."

Willow nodded. "I know. It was ... this afternoon ... I need to sit down."

Spike eye's narrowed at his mate's behavior. "You are sitting down," he said.

"Oh – yay."

"Willow, what in the hell is wrong with you?" Spike demanded.

She glanced up at him and managed a small smile. "Sorry. Just a little overwhelmed. They offered me another job."

"Oh, really?" he asked, intrigued.

Willow nodded. "Yeah. In LA. I'd be developing software programs at the branch there – Spike, they offered me a full scholarship to UCLA. And an apartment. And a car. And a really amazing salary."

Spike sat down on the bed beside her. "What did you say?"

Willow reached out and took his hand. "I told them that I would have to talk to my fiancι. I hope you don't mind me telling them that we're engaged. I didn't think they'd understand what a mate was..."

Spike was floored – his anger dissipating. "You told them you had to talk to me first?"

Willow nodded. "Of course. I mean, we are together, right? You're not going to break up with me once we get home, are you?"

Spike turned and grabbed her face in his hands. "I said forever, Witch. Don't think for one second that I didn't mean it. You're mine."

Willow smiled and raised her lips to his.

After a few moments, Spike broke away from the kiss. "LA, then?" he asked.

Willow hesitated before nodding. "I want to. I really, really want to. But then, there's this part of me that keeps saying that abandoning my friends to the Hellmouth would not be of the good."

Spike sighed. "Willow, you can't let loyalty to that bunch keep you from starting a very good career. And besides, they don't deserve you."

She bit her lip. "Spike, they're my friends. My life is in Sunnydale. And I love them."

Spike took her hand and looked into her eyes. "Yes, luv, I know. And if they're truly your friends, and if they truly respect you, they'll understand."

Willow raised an eyebrow. "You sure are surprisingly supportive, Spike. What's up? Why are you so fuzzy all of a sudden?"

Spike glared at her. "I am not fuzzy. I just know a good thing when I hear it. And besides, I'd love to get away from those bloody people."

Willow's eyes darkened. "Oh."

Spike looked at her in question. "Oh what?"

"I just realized something. You may not be able to leave Sunnydale as easily as I can ... what if Riley-"

"If he poses a problem? Of course he will! He'll pitch a bloody fit. Slutty too, most likely. They all will, pet. If it becomes too big of an issue, we'll deal with it. We'll just have to leave quietly."

Willow nodded, but she knew it wouldn't be that easy.

"They're not going to like this. Us, I mean. I've been avoiding thinking about it, but I can't do that anymore. They'll try to keep us apart."

Spike growled. "That will never happen. I will not allow it."

Willow's mind was whirling with thoughts and images of things that could happen. Her eyes filled with tears at the thought of someone staking Spike in order to 'protect' her.

"Oh, Goddess. Spike! They'll kill you."

Spike's mind rebelled at the thought. The majority of his brain screamed that not one of them could ever kill him. But a smaller, more insistent part reminded him that because they were all human he couldn't do a thing to stop them if they tried. Except run. He had no way of protecting himself. Or Willow, for that matter.

"We've got some roadblocks ahead for sure, luv."

Willow nodded. "I just wish I knew that I'd be able to protect you from the human variety of roadblocks ... but unless I resort to using my magic on my friends ..."

In Spike's heart, he knew the witch was right. His mind ran over the issue at hand again. The fact was that he couldn't defend himself from a human without causing himself severe pain. And he certainly couldn't protect Willow if they tried to physically take her away from him. Sighing heavily, he knew what he had to do.

"It'll be all right, Willow. I'll take care of everything."

"Spike..."

He shook his head. "Nope. Don't wanna talk about this anymore."

Willow's eyes widened at his tone. "Oh. Well, um, what do you want to talk about?"

Spike eyes flashed amber as he stalked over to her. Grabbing her arms and pulling her roughly to him, he answered, "Your punishment."

The smell of Willow's arousal filled the air and Spike threw her down on the bed. "Now, I can't punish you fully because we're in this bleedin' hotel room. But, seeing how you did leave against my wishes this afternoon..."

Willow's eyes darkened at the prospect. "Yes, I did. And I should be punished, Spike. I've been bad."

Instantly hard, Spike pounced on top of her. "Yes, pet. Very bad."

Willow stepped out of the bathroom dressed to the nines. She was wearing a sleeveless emerald green dress that fell almost to her knees. It was satin and beautiful. Her mate's fresh mark bared proudly on her throat, Willow smiled at him.

Spike's eyes widened when he saw her. The cigarette he was smoking forgotten, he got up from his seat on the bed and walked over to her.

"Willow, you look smashing, luv," he said right before his lips met hers.

Willow sighed in contentment and wrapped her arms around Spike.

"You sure know how to compliment a girl."

Spike grinned down at her.

"You sure you want to do this?" she asked, her voice betraying how tired she was.

"Go out?" Spike questioned, ignoring her discomfort. "Of course – what you want to let some realizations about Sunnydale and the future ruin our night?"

Willow shook her head. "No. You're right. We'll worry about home when we get there. I'm just tired. You wore me out with the punishment and the making me wait through an hour of teasing before you let me..."

Spike grabbed her and crushed her lips under hers in a hard kiss. "Keep talking, Little One, and we'll never get out of this room."

Willow giggled. "I don't think I could do anything more for a while, Spike. I meant it – you wore me out. But, I think I'll manage to survive your plans for tonight."

Spike just grinned. "You'll have fun, pet. And they'll be plenty of time for rest later."

Willow nodded because tired as she was, in truth, she wanted to go out. Spike was fun to show off.

"So, who were you on the phone with?" she questioned.

Spike looked at her with a blank expression on his face.

"Spike? I heard you on the phone when I was in the shower. Is everything okay?"

Slowly, Spike nodded. "Course it is, luv. Just needed to take care of something, s'all."

Willow wanted to ask for more details but let the subject drop. "You look great, by the way."

Spike looked down at himself and the black on black suit he was wearing. "Why wouldn't I look good? I am me, after all."

Willow slapped his arm. "Ego much?"

Spike grinned. "Ready?"

Willow nodded and took his outstretched arm. Grabbing their jackets, they headed out the door.

Their evening had been wonderful. Spike had managed to find a demon friendly playhouse and they'd gone to see King Lear. Willow had enjoyed it almost more than any other play she'd seen, but watching demons perform Shakespeare had thrown her slightly.

They had eaten at a nice restaurant – again run by demons. Willow wondered silently throughout the evening if every city had places like this, and if so, how did people not know about them? When she'd questioned Spike on the subject he'd just laughed and asked her how old she'd been when she'd discovered vampires and demons. Willow had just grinned and told Spike about the LSD excuse. They'd enjoyed a quiet dinner and were now dancing on the small floor offered at the restaurant.

Willow rested her head on Spike's shoulder, her arms wrapped tightly around him. They swayed together in silence, the music surrounding them. The other people on the dance floor had faded away and for the two of them, the night was perfect.

"I love you." Willow whispered.

Spike tilted his head down and smiled. "Love you, too, Will."

"We should go, though. We've got to make the flight."

Spike nodded. "Change on the plane?" he asked.

"Bags already there?" she questioned.

"Took care of everything, luv."

Willow smiled. "You always do."

Together they walked out of the small restaurant and into the night. Spike hailed a cab and they began the short journey to the airport. They rode quietly, speaking only pleasantries. They never broke contact, though. His hand always held hers, and she leaned closely against him. It was a contentment that neither of them had ever felt. And both silently vowed that nothing was going to keep them apart.

The flight to Sunnydale was uneventful, both of them sleeping soundly in each others arms. They arrived at four in the morning and quietly made their way to the Rosenberg house. There was a battered truck sitting in the driveway when they arrived causing Willow to tense.

"S'alright, luv." Spike said soothingly.

They watched a young black man get out of the truck and head over to them. Spike pulled Willow close to him and waited.

"You Spike?" the man asked.

"What of it?"

The man smirked. "I'm Charles Gunn. Angel sent me."

Chapter 8
Home of the Brave

"You Spike?" the man asked.

"What of it?"

The man smirked. "I'm Charles Gunn. Angel sent me."

Spike almost growled. "He couldn't be bothered to come himself?"

Gunn's face clouded. "Can we go inside?"

Willow, deciding to take charge, nodded. "Come on."

Willow led the two men into the living room. "Can I get you something to drink, Mr. Gunn? Or are you hungry?"

He shook his head. "No, thank you. And please just call me Gunn."

Willow smiled politely and was about to speak when Spike broke his silence with a question.

"Why didn't he come himself?" he demanded.

Again, Gunn's face darkened slightly. "That wouldn't have been a good idea. I don't know what the two of you talked about on the phone, but he went a little crazy after you hung up. See first, he started mumbling in this Irish sounding accent, and I didn't know until then that he'd been Irish. Then, he starting yelling things in some weird language that I didn't understand, but whatever he was saying made Wes blush. And then he trashed the office."

Spike stared at Gunn in shock. "He started yelling in Gaelic? Over me?"

Gunn nodded. "Apparently. He looked straight at me and told me to get my ass to Sunnydale at this address and to wait for you and her. He told me that I was to protect you above all else and to help you get out of town safely."

Spike blinked as he processed what Gunn had just told him.

Turning to Willow, Gunn continued. "And, he told me to, and I quote, 'tell that witch that if she had to use her magic to protect herself then she'd damn well better do it.' In all honesty, I'd never seen him that pissed off, and that's including the last time his family was in town."

Willow, who had been watching the scene unfold in shocked silence, just nodded at Gunn and looked at Spike. "What'd you tell him, Spike?"

Spike sighed. "What I had to."

Willow closed her eyes and sighed. "The chip. You told him about the chip."

Spike merely nodded.

"Chip?" Gunn asked.

"He didn't tell you anything else?" Spike questioned back.

Gunn shook his head. "He didn't give me the chance to ask questions, just told me to go."

"The government put a chip in my head."

Gunn still looked confused, and Willow, knowing how hard it was for Spike to discuss the subject, took over. "It's a microchip that prevents him from harming any human being. Even out of self defense."

"And you're a vampire, right?"

Willow and Spike both nodded.

"And you're part of Angel's family?"

"He's my Sire."

Gunn considered this a moment. "Well, that explains why he was talking about killing a lot of people."

Willow and Spike lay in her bed. His arms were wrapped around her and he hadn't spoken since they'd said goodnight. Willow knew he was awake. Her thoughts were keeping her awake too, but she was afraid to ask Spike what he was thinking about – she was afraid he'd push her away.

Willow knew that calling Angel and asking for help had been a very big deal. Spike had not only had to swallow his pride by asking, he'd had to explain why he needed the help in the first place. What she didn't understand was why Spike was teetering back and forth between being angry at Angel for not coming himself and being seemingly on the verge of tears.

"It's because he cares, luv. And I'm not going to cry over Peaches." Spike said quietly into her hair.

"What?" Willow asked, confused.

Spike smiled. "You asked me a question and I answered."

"I didn't say anything."

He chuckled. "Yeah, pet, you did. And it's okay. I should have trusted you with this right away."

"So, you're upset because Angel cares about you?"

Spike nodded. "Yeah. See, for eighty some-odd years I have lived away from him. My Sire. He didn't want me anymore."

Willow broke in. "I thought Druscilla was your Sire."

"Well, she made me. But it was Angelus who taught me everything I know about being a vampire. He's the one who raised me, if you will. Dru may have given me her blood, but Angelus has always been my Sire."

Willow thought for a minute. "And when he was cursed, he left you and Dru."

Again, Spike nodded. "And I learned how to be a vampire on my own. I became a Master. But, through it all, I missed him. I mean, he's like my father. Without him..."

"I understand," Willow began. "Half of you is angry for him not coming to take care of things himself because you're a Master Vampire and deserve the respect of him coming when you call."

"Yes."

Willow continued. "But the other part of you is overwhelmed by the fact that he cares enough about you to want to kill everyone connected to the chip."

"Exactly."

Willow sighed. "You'll see him soon."

Spike sighed into the dark. "You understand me so well. I didn't think that was possible. I love you, Willow."

She rolled over and faced him. "I know you do, Spike. I see that more now than I ever did before. I understand what it took for you to do this. And to know that you did it for us ... Goddess, Spike, I love you so much."

Spike pulled Willow closer and kissed her soundly. "We should get some sleep. It's going to be a long day later."

Willow nodded as she curled herself against her. "Everything's going to be fine, Spike."

"I know, Red. I know."

Willow awoke to find the bed empty. Spike had written her a note telling her that he and Gunn had gone to take care of a few things. She got out of bed and headed to the shower. Glancing at the clock she discovered that it was only just after sunset. Hurrying, she began to get ready.

One hour later Willow taped the note to the door that told Spike and Gunn she'd gone to Giles' place and that they should join her there. Resolving herself to 'facing the music' she got into her car and drove over to her mentor's apartment.

Once she arrived, however, she didn't know what to do with herself. She'd never knocked on Giles' door before, but yet now that she was in front of it, she didn't know if she could just walk in. She'd not been very nice to him the last time they'd spoken, after all.

Taking a deep breath, she rapped lightly on the door and walked in. The living room was filled with people. Giles, Buffy, Xander and their other halves sat around the small room – all with books on their laps. As she walked in they all stared at her in wide eyed shock. Buffy was the first to speak.

"Just where in the hell have you been?" she demanded.

Willow tilted her head to the side and regarded Buffy with a cold look. The blonde's attitude was what she'd expected, but she'd hoped for better. "England. I told you that on the answering machine – and I told Giles that when I talked to him."

Buffy snorted. "Yeah. You've been in England. With Spike."

Willow listened in silence as Buffy belittled her for leaving, saying that she had shirked responsibility by running off. The redhead was almost shaking with anger before Buffy was done laying down her attempted guilt trip.

"Ya know, Will, I'm disappointed. You've changed," Buffy said coldly.

Willow met her eyes and nodded. "Yes, I have. Xander, can I speak to you outside, please?"

Her best friend hesitated. "I don't know Will-"

"Alexander LaVelle Harris, get your ass outside now!" Willow demanded, causing Xander to jump up and follow her out the door.

Willow sat down on a patio chair and motioned for Xander to do the same. Once he had, she smiled.

"Hi," she said softly.

Xander grinned. "Hi."

"I missed you! And I've got so much to tell you! So much stuff happened- and it was so fun!"

Xander rolled his eyes. "You had fun with Spike? Somehow I don't believe that."

Willow glared at him. "Do not speak about him that way, Xander. I mean it."

It took him a moment, but Xander finally nodded. "Fine."

Willow, knowing she wasn't going to get anything else out of him, continued. "We went to New York. I met them."

Xander looked at her confused. "Met who?"

"My bosses."

Understanding dawned on his face. "Oh, really? And what happened?"

Willow grinned. "They offered me a wonderful job. A great job. And a full college scholarship. And an apartment. And a car. And my salary ... well, it's going to be great all round."

Xander couldn't help but smile at her. She looked ecstatic. There was, however, something in her expression that made him worry. A lot. "You have but face, Will."

She hung her head. "I love you."

Xander closed his eyes and prepared himself for the worst. "I love you too, Willow. You know that."

"The job's in LA."

Tears formed on the inside of Xander's eye lids. He bit his lip and willed them away. In slightly more control of his emotions, he opened his eyes. Willow was staring at him with a look of pure sadness. Tears were streaming down her face and instinctively he reached out and wiped them away.

"It'll be okay, Willow."

"Will it?"

Xander nodded. "Of course. LA's only a couple hours away. We'll see each other all the time. And besides, the way Spike drives, I'm sure you guys could get here in about an hour."

Willow's eyes widened. "The way Spike drives?"

Xander halfway grinned. "Well, he is going with you, right?"

Willow nodded. "I love him."

"It's not going to be easy convincing them to let him leave."

Willow bit her lip. "We know."

Xander took her hand. "It'll be okay. I promise."

Willow smiled at him and her tears finally stopped falling. She nodded her head towards Giles' door and indicated that they should go back inside.

"Yeah. Wouldn't want Anya to get jealous. God only knows what she might do if that were to happen," he said.

Willow laughed as Xander pulled her back through the door. Her laugh faded abruptly as they entered. The icy reception of the room making her shiver, Willow took a deep breath and resisted the urge to turn and run.

"Willow we need to have a serious talk with you." Giles said.

"No. You don't. I need to have a serious talk with all of you."

She was about to explain when a knock sounded on the door. Xander turned to answer it and greeted Spike and Gunn to a tense hello. Within seconds of Spike being in the house, Buffy and Riley were both on their feet with stakes in hand. Willow and Gunn both reacted at the same time – Gunn by physically grabbing Riley and throwing him to the floor, and Willow by stepping in front of Spike and throwing her arms around his neck.

"Get the hell out of the way, Willow."

"Get off me, man!"

Buffy and Riley spoke at the same time. Willow ignored Buffy just as Gunn ignored Riley. Willow tightened her arms around Spike and raised her face to his. His blue eyes burned with a passion that made Willow smile.

"Hi," she said.

"Red," Spike greeted.

"You came."

"Of course I did."

"Don't start anything, okay?" Willow asked.

Spike smirked. "Couldn't if I wanted to, luv. I've been told on no uncertain terms to behave."

"Huh?" she questioned.

He just grinned at her and lowered his lips to hers, kissing her tenderly.

Buffy, who had been watching the scene in shocked silence suddenly came out of her stupor. Her eyes flashing in anger, she remembered who it was Willow was kissing.

"Get away from her!" Buffy screamed and lunged at the couple. Xander, surprising the room, stepped between the Slayer and her target.

"Buffy, I think you need to calm down. Willow is obviously not going to let you at Spike, and that guy sitting on top of Riley seems intent on keeping bleach boy safe as well. And I don't think I want to let you kill Spike, either."

"What the hell? Xander! He kidnapped her!"

"No he didn't."

Buffy was outraged. As she moved toward Willow and Spike again, Xander grabbed her arm.

Anya moved up beside them from out of nowhere and stared hard at Willow and Spike, who were cautiously watching the scene unfold. "Oh my god," the ex-demon began. "You two are mated."

Willow blushed and Spike smirked.

Giles, who had been remarkably quiet up until this point made a choking sound. "Oh dear lord."

They were all still in Giles' living room. Buffy and Riley were still clutching their weapons and glaring at Spike. Xander seemed to be torn between joining with them in anger and supporting Willow. Anya was giddy with excitement, and had repeatedly been asked to shut up as no one really wanted to discuss Spike and Willow's newly discovered sex life. Giles was silent for the most part, only speaking when he felt he could control his emotion. Olivia just sat on the couch drinking scotch, quietly watching the entire group.

Willow and Spike sat on chairs near the door. Gunn had placed himself between Spike and the two hostile people intent on staking him. Willow was trying to explain to the group that she was in complete control of herself and had not been forced into anything.

"Willow, why don't you just get to the point. Tell them." Xander said suddenly.

Willow closed her eyes and sighed. She knew Xander was hurting, and she wished there was some other way. Spike squeezed her hand and Willow opened her eyes.

"I've been offered a job in LA. I'm moving there."

The silence which filled the room lasted a full minute before erupting into utter chaos.

"What? NO!" Buffy shouted.

"Willow, Spike is a *vampire*!" Riley yelled.

"Willow, you can't leave! What about school?" Giles implored.

"Couldn't you reconsider, Will? I mean, this is your home." Xander said, his voice barely carrying above the noise.

As the questions and accusations continued to fly about the room, one person stood up and put her fingers to her lips. Shrilly, a whistle filled the small apartment. As one the entire group turned toward Olivia. She stared hard at all of them before walking over to Willow and Spike. She smiled at the both of them before placing herself between Spike and the rest of the room – effectively shielding his heart from the others.

"If I may say a few things?" she asked quietly.

She motioned for everyone to sit back down and waited patiently until they'd all done so. Nodding to herself, she left her post before Spike and walked calmly over to Buffy and Riley. She stood in front of them with her hands outstretched. They glared at her but eventually handed over their weapons. She turned and walked away from them, speaking firmly over her shoulder, "And don't even think about pulling out the weapons you've hidden on yourselves. There will be no more violence."

The pretty British woman stood before the group and acknowledged them silently for a moment before beginning to speak. "I've been here for several months now, and though you lot may not think so, I am quite observant. And now, I'm going to tell you about some of the things I've observed."

Turning to Xander, she spoke softly. "Xander, it is clear to me that you love Willow very much, and I am very glad that you value her friendship above whatever it is you think of Spike."

Xander smiled and nodded slightly before Olivia continued.

"And I know that the rest of you love Willow, too. But, all of you, even you Xander, have taken advantage of her repeatedly. You continually disregard her feelings and are completely selfish when it comes to her time."

Willow's eyes widened. "Olivia..."

The woman turned to her and shook her head. "Willow, hush. This needs to be said."

Turning back to the group, she continued. "This is what I've observed tonight. Merely seconds after Willow entered the apartment this evening Buffy yelled at her. The yelling and the attempted guilt trips continued until Willow pulled Xander outside. And what happened then? You all continued to talk about her as if she was a stranger instead of a friend."

The small group of people looked extremely guilty, but Olivia continued still. "And when Spike came in? Buffy, you and Riley tried to kill him. If it hadn't been for the fact that Willow stepped in front of Spike and this man who I don't know intercepted Riley ..." she let the implication rest.

Olivia looked at Gunn and smiled. "I'm Olivia. And you are?"

Gunn rose and extended his hand. "Charles Gunn."

Olivia nodded. "And you're here because?"

"My boss sent me to protect his boy over there."

Buffy snorted at this point. "Oh god – this is priceless! And just who in the hell would do something like that? Why would anyone want Spike protected enough to send a bodyguard?"

Gunn regarded the blonde coldly. "His name is Angel."

Buffy paled. "Angel?"

Willow nodded and began to speak. "Yes, Buffy. Angel. And now that Olivia has effectively calmed you guys down – and thanks for that, Liv – can I continue?

No one spoke. Olivia sat down on the couch next to Giles and waited.

Willow looked at her friends, her anger shining clear in her eyes. "I am going to say this once and once only. I suggest you all listen."

She squeezed Spike's hand and got up. She regarded the group each in turn before continuing. "I have been friends with most of you for years. I have repeatedly put my life on the line beside yours in this fight we've all chosen. I've spent nights researching demons, I've drained myself working spells, and I've almost died several times."

Willow walked around the room, pacing and trying to keep her temper under control. "I have never complained. I can think of one time that I went off on you guys and that ended up with me and Anya bringing Vampire Willow out to play. I mean sure, I've made my mistakes. But so have all of you. And ya know what? I've accepted everything you've done without question."

Willow turned and focused on Buffy and Riley. "I love Spike. He is a great friend, he treats me with respect, he's proven that he will take care of me, and most importantly, he loves me, too. Spike is my mate."

"Willow he's a vamp-" Buffy began.

"Buffy Summers if you try for one-second to tell me how wrong it is to date a vampire so help me God, I'll walk out that door right now and you'll never see me again. I am beyond tired of your hypocritical crap." Willow said, her green eyes flashing.

Buffy shrank back, deflated.

"Now, moving on. As I was saying, I've been offered a job in LA. It's through the software company that I've been working for since high school. They've offered me a full scholarship to UCLA, an apartment, a new car, and an impressive salary. I have made my decision and I will be taking the job."

Giles sighed. "Willow," he began. "Have you considered all the repercussions of this?"

Willow smiled in Giles' direction. "Repercussions of the job or Spike?"

Tersely, Giles replied, "Spike."

Willow nodded. "Oh, yes. I considered them in an almost freezing to death in the cemetery beside a headstone kind of way. Spike and I had a long talk after that. Everything's going to be okay."

"What the hell, Will? Freezing to death?" Xander asked.

Willow smiled and was about to answer when Anya directed a question at Spike.

"You allowed her to see your grave?" the blond woman asked quietly.

After Spike nodded, Anya sucked in a deep breath and got up. She walked over to Willow and surprised the witch by hugging her tightly, whispering in her ear, "Congratulations, Willow. You are a very lucky woman. Spike means it when he says forever. We'll talk later, okay? Right now, though I'm going to take Xander home. I'll explain some stuff to him, all right? I'll make sure he understands."

Willow could only nod as Anya turned to Xander and declared it was time for them to leave. Xander protested, but Anya made it clear that she would not be deterred. Willow turned back to Giles and looked at him with a small smile on her face.

"I want you to be happy for me. I've never done anything for any of you but support you. Even when I totally disagreed with your decisions," she said turning to Buffy. "I don't want to do anything to hurt our friendships, but I will not let you guys dictate my life. I am going to do something that I haven't done in a long time."

Buffy cleared her throat. "Willow?"

"I'm going to live my life for me, Buffy. I'm not saying that I'm going to stop helping you if you need me, or stop being your friend. I'm just saying that I am going to take charge of my own life."

Buffy bit her lip. "But, in LA? Willow, no! I mean, I may not like it, but I won't stop you from being with Spike, I swear! I'll do anything! I just don't want you to be gone!"

Buffy had tears streaming down her cheeks. Willow rushed forward and into her arms. "Buffy, I've got to. Don't you see? This is my future. But, I'm going to visit. And you can come see me. We can go shopping and stuff. I am going to do this."

Buffy's shoulders shook. "I know," she sobbed.

Riley suddenly stood beside the two girls, his eyes hard. "Willow, I refuse to understand any of this. I thought you were smarter ... going to LA is going to be a good thing for you. Especially since you'll be going without Spike."

Willow pulled away from Buffy and glared at Riley. "No, I'm not. Spike is coming with me, Riley, and I strongly suggest that you do not try to stand in the way."

"Willow do you honestly think that I'm just going to let him leave?"

"That's exactly what she thinks," a cold voice said from the doorway.

Chapter 9
All In the Family: Blood is Blood

"Willow, do you honesty think that I'm just going to let him leave?" Riley asked.

"That's exactly what she thinks," a cold voice said from the doorway.

Everyone turned and stared. Angel stood just inside the apartment, his hand resting on Spike's shoulder. The dark haired vampire nodded at Gunn and then looked the rest of the room, his eyes amber. His gaze rested on Buffy and Willow for a long time before he spoke. "William, go out to my car. Now."

Spike didn't hesitate – he just got up and complied, shocking everyone in the room. Gunn followed him. Angel turned toward Willow and smiled. Willow smiled in return acknowledging that she knew everything was okay.

"You can't stop this, Angel. Don't interfere." Riley said firmly.

Angel laughed. "Interfere? You messed with my family, boy. Be glad I haven't killed you yet."

Buffy gasped. "Angel..."

Willow placed a hand on Buffy's arm and spoke quietly. "He won't. Well, not unless Riley or any of his commando friends does anything stupid. Believe me when I say this, Buffy – you do not want to test Angel's soul right now. This is Sire/Childe stuff. You don't want to get involved."

Giles cleared his throat yet again. "I agree. Riley, calm down. If you haven't noticed, Spike and Gunn have already left. Deal with the fact that you've lost."

Riley's jaw clenched tightly, the muscles ticking. He said nothing, but sat back down.

Angel visibly relaxed and then turned to the group of people he'd come to see. "I'm not going to pretend to be happy that I can't do anything about this *chip* in my boy's head. What I am going to do is take him away from here. And if anyone tries to stop me, or attempts to hurt William at all..." Angel let the sentence trail off, though his eyes conveyed his intentions.

"He's a hostile-" Riley began.

Angel growled. "He's my Childe."

"Oh, big deal, Angel. Get over yourself." The words had barely left Riley's mouth before Angel lunged at the other man.

Buffy and Olivia screamed in shock. Giles made a move to get in between the two men, but Willow's actions beat him to it.

"Separate." Willow said, her voice deep and laced with power.

Angel and Riley were tossed away from each other and pinned against opposite walls. Buffy, Giles, and Olivia stared at the witch in shock as she placed herself between the two angry men.

"Enough," she began, facing Riley. "If you hadn't figured it out yet, you just made a huge mistake. But, because I love Buffy and I consider you a friend, I've decided to keep Angelus from hurting you. And believe me, Riley, you would be dealing with Angelus. Now, listen up everyone, I'm serious here. If I learned anything over the past few weeks, it's that a vampire's family is a lot more than meets the eye. Angel is seriously out for blood here. His family – his Childe – has been violated. No one say anything else about stopping him, all right?"

Angel gazed at the redhead with a newfound respect. Signaling to her that he was back in control, Willow released him from the wall. "Let Riley down, too, Willow," he said.

Willow turned her eyes to Riley and questioned him with the tilt of her head. Nodding slightly, Riley agreed to behave. Willow released him and motioned for them all to sit down. No one knew exactly what to say next. Giles finally broke the silence – and the tension – with a question to Willow.

"How do you suddenly know so much about vampire lineage?" he asked Willow.

Willow grinned. "Oh, I got a first hand demonstration. I met a few vampires while Spike and I were in London. From watching all that went on between them and Spike ... well, I learned a lot."

Angel smirked. "You met Spike's boys, didn't you?" he asked.

Willow nodded. "Yeah. Seth and his Childe Regan were there. And Donegan and Everett. They showed up at the house shortly after we arrived."

"And you're still human?" Angel asked, quietly.

Willow nodded. "It was scary for a couple of days, but then I told Seth I wasn't scared of him."

"You did what?" Buffy practically shouted. "Willow! Never tell a vampire that! They can tell when you're lying."

Willow nodded. "Yeah, he knew I was lying about being scared, but I corrected him on the source of my fear. Then we talked. I told him and the rest of Spike's kids stories about he Hellmouth. Things got easier after that. Well, especially after Spike claimed me."

Angel and Giles both stared hard at Willow, shocked. "He hadn't claimed you before they arrived?" Giles asked.

Willow shook her head. "No. We didn't know he could bite me then. And besides, we weren't ready for that yet."

Angel's eyes were wide. "Spike has that much control over his Childer?"

Willow shook her head. "No. Well, yes, but not exactly. He laid a verbal claim on me and then pretty much avoided me except at night. And he made me hide most of the time."

Giles looked at Angel and then at Willow. "He truly protected you, Willow. And his actions here tonight indicate that he is in complete control of himself. That alone has shown me that he's serious about his relationship with you. I'm convinced that he loves you. And I'm sorry I doubted your judgment."

"It's okay, Giles." Willow said with a smile before turning to Angel. "Did you send Spike and Gunn somewhere?"

Angel nodded. "They're at your house. Gunn was to take him there as soon as I arrived."

Willow grinned. "You're the one who told him to behave, huh?"

Angel smirked. "Yeah. It took some convincing, though."

Willow just smiled.

Angel touched her arm. "Willow, I'm taking Spike back to LA tonight. You can come with us or follow later, but my boy will not be in this town any longer."

Willow nodded. "I know. And I understand."

"Oh, god! Willow! You can't leave tonight! We've still got a lot to talk about! Don't leave tonight, Will, please!" Buffy pleaded.

Willow turned toward her best friend. "I'm not going to, Buffy. There's still a lot of stuff I need to take care of here. And besides, Christmas is in four days and I haven't seen Xander do the Snoopy Dance yet."

Buffy sighed and relaxed. Turning to Riley, she stated, "We're leaving. I've got a lot to think about and I'm not leaving you here."

Willow hugged Buffy tightly. "It'll be okay, Buff."

"I know, Willow."

Surprisingly, Riley left without protesting. Willow looked at Angel and then at Giles and Olivia. Smiling and beginning to giggle, she said, "Well, I sure know how to make an announcement."

Olivia was quick to join in her laughter. "Willow, my dear," she began. "I do believe that the two of us are going to be great friends."

Willow smiled brightly at her. "Thank you, Olivia. For everything."

The older woman just smiled. "I'm going to go to bed now, Ripper."

Giles nodded as she walked up the stairs. He turned to Angel and Willow and sighed. "Angel, I trust that you will explain to Willow anything that Spike hasn't?"

The vampire nodded. "Of course."

"And, Willow? You'll be careful? I don't believe Riley will give up as easy as Buffy did."

Willow managed to smile at Giles. "I'm always careful, Giles. You know that."

Angel stood beside Willow with his hand on her shoulder. "She'll be protected, Rupert."

Giles stared hard at the vampire and saw the truth of his words. "Yes, I see that she will be."

Willow smiled at Giles once more before she and Angel left the apartment.

Angel and Willow rode in silence for a while. Upon reaching the parking lot they'd discovered that both Angel's car and Gunn's truck were gone. There was a note on Willow's car informing them that Gunn and Spike were waiting for them at the Rosenberg house. She'd tossed him the keys, they'd gotten into her car and had not spoken once since leaving Giles'. To Willow, the silence was deafening.

"Are you mad at me, Angel?" she asked quietly.

Angel looked at the woman beside him. "Not at all, Willow. I admit that I was – when Spike first called me. I still don't understand why no one thought to inform me about his *condition*."

"I'm sorry." Willow said. "I know."

"I love him, Angel."

Angel's eyes softened at her tone. "I know that too, Willow. And I know he loves you. The fact that he asked me for help in the first place proves that."

Willow nodded. "Yeah."

Angel smirked. "That was some powerful mojo you worked back there."

Willow bit her lip. "Yeah. Sorry about that. But I had to do something."

"I understand, Willow. And honestly, I was quite impressed. My demon was too."

Willow smiled. "Really? And my goodness my life is weird. Not three weeks ago the idea that your demon was impressed with me would have totally freaked me out."

Angel laughed. "Welcome to the family, Willow."

She grinned. "Thanks. Angel, can I ask you a question?"

"You can ask me anything you need to, Willow."

She was quiet for a moment. "Okay. See, I didn't think there was anything really spectacular about it at the time, but while we were in England Spike sent me to see his grave-"

"He did what?" Angel asked suddenly.

Willow bit her lip. "Yeah, okay. See, now Anya reacted that way too, only a little quieter and then she hugged me and then took Xander home. What's the big deal?"

Angel sighed and pulled over to the side of the road. Turning to Willow he answered quietly. "Willow, for a vampire to show a person his grave means that they're openly admitting to being human once."

"Okay." Willow said, still unsure of Angel's point.

"That means that Spike was not only asking you to be a part of his future, Willow. He wants you to know about his past as well. He's given all of himself to you."

The full meaning behind Angel's words slowly sunk in. Willow's eyes filled with tears as she realized how much of himself Spike had trusted her with. Not only was he letting her get to know his demon, but also William, the man he'd been in life. Both man and demon loved her.

"Wow." Willow said quietly.

Angel nodded. "Willow, never in all of my years, have I allowed anyone but my Sire to see my grave."

"Really?" Willow asked.

"Really," Angel began. "This is a very big deal. Willow I was joking around before, but I'm serious now. Welcome to the family."

Willow and Spike were standing on her porch saying good-bye.

"You're sure you won't come with us?" Spike asked again.

Willow nodded. "I'm sure. I'll be okay. Gunn's staying here to make sure I'm safe from Riley and his bunch, and I really need to spend some time with the gang."

Spike nodded. "I know, luv. But that doesn't mean I like it. I'll miss you."

Willow grinned. "I'll miss you, too. But it's only a few days. I'll be there before sunset on Christmas Day. You won't even be awake before I get there."

"I know." Spike said as he leaned in for a kiss.

Willow tilted her head up and met his lips. The kiss started soft, their lips moving together slowly. Spike pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, his tongue teasing her lips before slipping into her open mouth. Willow responded eagerly and with passion.

Angel cleared his throat from beside his car. "Spike, it's almost 3 am. We've got to hurry. Seriously."

"Oh, shut up, Peaches. You're just jealous." Spike said as he backed Willow up against the porch railing, her back to Angel.

Angel just smirked. "Hurry up ya bleached blonde pain in me arse."

Spike and Willow laughed. He pulled her to him and crushed her lips under his. Her tongue sought entrance to his mouth and he readily complied. Her fingers gripped the back of his head as his hands traveled up and down her back. Spike nipped lightly at her lips before breaking the kiss. He tried to pull away from Willow, but she refused to let him go.

"Not yet." She said.

Spike sighed contentedly and pulled her even closer. Willow stood with her head on his chest, her arms tightly around his waist, her emotions rising to the surface. She knew that he had to go if they were going to make it to LA before sunrise, she just couldn't let go of him. She knew Spike could feel the tension in her body – she felt his body respond with a tension of its own.

"Luv-" he began.

Willow nodded into his chest. "I know, Spike. I know you have to go, but ..."

Spike ran his hands reassuringly up and down her arms. "What is it, pet?"

Willow sighed. "It's just that for the last few weeks we've not been apart very much. The longest times were a few hours at the most. I'm scared, Spike."

"Of being alone?"

Willow shook her head. "No, it's just, what if absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder?"

Spike tightened his arms around her. "That will not happen. Willow, you are mine. Being apart for a few days won't change that."

Willow nodded. "Yeah, but, what if it does?"

Spike almost growled at the defeated sound of her voice, but she needed reassurance, not force. "Willow, look at me."

Willow looked up. Spike tilted her head and his lips descended onto hers in a tender kiss. His tongue teased hers while his hands traveled over her body. One hand cupped her ass, lifting her up slightly. The other rested on the back of her head holding her firmly to him.

Willow moaned into the kiss as she felt his erection against her. She tightened her arms around his neck and tried to pull her body up. Spike, never breaking their kiss, lifted her onto the porch railing. The hand that had been cupping her backside moved between their bodies to Willow's denim covered core. Willow moved one of her hands to cup his erection over his jeans. Their kiss intensified and after a moment, Willow broke away breathless.

She tilted her head to the side and offered her neck to him. Spike began to purr as he kissed the exposed flesh tenderly, sucking it into his mouth and bringing her blood to the surface. His hand stroked in time with hers, both of them fondling each other through their clothes – each careful to ensure that the seams were hitting all the right places.

Willow groaned as his tongue ran over the mark he'd made on her neck a few days before. Knowing what she needed, Spike let his demon emerge and slipped his fangs into the mark, renewing it. They both came as he drank from her. Willow cried out in pleasure at the same time that Spike groaned against her. Withdrawing his fangs, Spike lapped at the remaining blood. Willow's body was trembling and she held him close.

"I love you," she said.

"I love you too." Spike said.

Willow rested her head on Spike's shoulder and smiled. "Thanks. I needed that."

Spike laughed. "Yeah, pet. I know you did. Now, if you don't mind, I'd rather we stop giving Peaches a free show. I mean, if we're gonna let him watch, we should at least charge him something."

Willow slapped his arm playfully before she realized the implications of what Spike had just said. Her eyes wide she turned around to see a smirking Angel leaning against his car. "Oh Goddess!" Willow exclaimed, blushing madly.

Spike just laughed. "Believe me when I say that Angelus didn't mind, luv."

That just made Willow blush harder. "Oh Goddess!"

Spike pulled her back to him and kissed her soundly. Willow tasted her blood in his mouth and had to fight herself for control. She didn't want him to leave, and tasting herself on him made her want to drag him to her bed. Instead she pulled away and looked at his jeans.

"You've got a little problem there."

Spike glared at her. "I wonder why?"

Willow giggled. "I can take care of that for you."

Spike's eyes widened as he watched her concentrate on the wet spot on his jeans. He was about to tell her to stop when he heard the Latin coming from her mouth. It was just a few words and Spike instantly felt the spot dry. Reaching down, he was very surprised to find his jeans not only dry, but clean. Willow just grinned at him.

He grinned back and kissed her once more. Willow sighed into the kiss before deepening it.

"Spike." Angel said softly from the car, reminding both Willow and Spike that it was time to go.

Willow broke away from the kiss and ran her hand over Spike's face. "Baby? Go all 'grrr' for me?"

Spike looked at her funny, but complied. He gasped in pleasure as Willow's fingertips brushed against his ridges.

"I love you so much. And I'll see you in a few days," she said.

Spike kissed her again. "I love you too, Red."

He hugged her close for a moment longer before telling her good-bye and walking slowly to Angel's car. The two vampires waited until Willow had joined Gunn in the house before driving away. Spike was still in his demon face when Angel spoke.

"You realize I'm going to be hard for weeks after watching that."

Spike's human visage emerged as he laughed. "Serves you right for peeping."

Angel chucked before turning serious. "She just accepted your gift, William."

"My gift?" Spike asked quietly.

Angel nodded into the darkness. "I told her what that trip to the cemetery meant."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," Angel said. "Spike, that thing at the end when she asked to see your demon..."

Spike nodded. "Yeah, Sire. I get it. She was accepting me for who I am. Again. How did I get so bloody lucky?"

Angel laughed. "How the hell should I know?"

"I'm not going to turn her."

Angel nodded. "I know. I didn't believe you when you told me that before. Not really. But, I do now. I see what she means to you."

"I love her."

"Yes, William. And she loves you."

Spike smiled. "Yeah. She does, doesn't she?"
